I'm not a betting man myself, I was having a look on the NewsNow QPR page and spotted this optimistic article on us. Anyway I just thought Id share it with everyone and I'm sure most would disagree with it anyway. Three reasons why an implausible top-ten finish beckons for QPR this term The Râs are focused on defying the drop, but a place amongst the fatter felines can still be snared. Just a few short weeks ago QPR found themselves propping up the Premier League table as Harry Redknapp fired excuses at the media like mortars into a war-torn town. With 15 matches clocked up they are now looking down on three less fortunate foes from their 17th-place position of power, a standing they will gladly kill for once the final whistle hoots on game 38. But why settle for an uncomfortable resting place on the hinge of the Premier League trapdoor when a top-half finish remains plausible? I'm tempted to withdraw my life's savings and have a punt on us finishing 10th. I'm no good at working out the odds so could someone tell me what return I would get on £5.37 if we manage to do this?
I'd do the same but I don't fancy multiplying up my overdraft. Although, if I put it on and lost, would it then get wiped.... :/
I hate articles like that! They get me all excited and then that excitement evaporates - usually at the next game. It is high time we got an away point or three to further steady the ship.
Sorry about that RTID, I expect most of us to disagree with it anyway. I just thought it would be nice to have a more uplifting piece about us on here for a change!
The problem with these pieces is that the whole thing could change if we lose the next 3 games, we then become every betting site's favourite for relegation......
No apology needed. Love it really - until the next defeat! I actually don't disagree. Given how tight the table is at this later stage, a mini-run of just 3 back to back wins would propel us upwards at a good speed.
I like the positive slant - gives a bit of balance to the place. I'm not sure the bookie likes us though - it's a bit of a masked insult. If "Awwiittee" Ray Winston came on the TV and said that it was 100-1 that KooPeeArr Matt isn't a complete moron, bet naaahhh, then I might think he was saying the opposite.
Oh well, I suppose anything can happen. Yes the premier league at present is not as fragmented so far and like many say a couple of wins could push us right up there. It's still pretty open right now. Come on U RRRRssss, lets do this!
In fairness (sorry about the annoying cliche) I'm sure the foxes could also do this but I won't be putting my £5.37 on it!
Hmm, life at the bottom must be a hoot. I'm hoping you guys can set up a new record for the number of consecutive games in the PL without a win. 16 is your target. You're currently on 10 and, looking at your next three games, UTR's £5.37 might be well spent on you losing those too. That would make 13. Tantalisingly close, eh?
Especially now that Schmeichal is out for up to 6 weeks or so with a broken metatarsal (spelling)....
Agreed, although he is a bit shaky on crosses as we exploited the other week.......would have liked us to sign him when he left Massive a few years ago to replace Kenny......
Good NPC keeper TBH, getting a bit found out now the bar has been raised. I like him and have him in my dream team, but he's not doing me any favours right now !
Sorry to change tack here .......... but, I've just noticed 'CroydonCaptainJack' avatar and l must say there are a couple of lovely pastries there.
Sorry Aussie I have changed it again. I got pulled up another forum so thought I would do the right thing However, to see a full size version go onto lfw and a thread called 'doughnuts' about a week ago. I wouldn't know which ones to go for mate!
The do it to drum up trade. They want you to spend your money with them ... or rather lose your money to them.
