Just had a look at the Premier League table. If we win on Monday and increase the gap to the relegation zone to 15 points we safe on all but goal difference. This seems unlikely as Blackburn, in 18th, have a goal difference of -24, while we have -7.
That's not strictly true, is it. Blackburn can still make 46 points. I agree it's highly unlikely, but mathematically..... Still, I reckon we're safe now.
Yes but if we increase the gap to 15 points meaning if they lose their next game they can only get 43.
I honestly don't think we'll need to pick up any more points this season and we'll stay up comfortably. We're 12 clear with 18 left to play for but if you look at the remaining fixtures of the bottom five I don't think there's much chance of three of those five getting enough points to drop us in it. Remember to catch us we can't pick up any more points while three of those five have to win four of their remaining six games to go level on points with us. So far this season Bolton have managed nine wins in 31, QPR and Blackburn have managed seven in 32, Wigan six in 32 and Wolves five in 32. Mathematically we aren't safe, realistically we are and have been since mid January.
