Very promising that TWTD are stating that we are the favourites to sign Andrews. Not the usual 'we are reportedly' or 'rumoured to be'. Suggests a deal is imminent. I was hoping for a CB too but transfer rumours states we are close to signing Shane Long for £8M. Never mind.
Hmmm now you've got me thinking - Shane Long probably the best striker we could realistically sign. £8m is a lot of money though - is he worth £8m?
I am just thinking that we have probably got £8m of talent in this term (lets assume the loans see out the season) without spending transfer fees. Shane Long is deadly at this level and if he joined it could see us become title contenders. On the other hand it would be a risk and put everyone under pressure to go up this year.
The fact that Leicester cannot persuade him to join suggests no matter what the fee / wages we would offer he will be moving to a prem league side. Makes the £1.5M we paid for Chopra seem even more of a bargain!
Shane long is not a realistic signing. He is too good to not go to the premier league, he absolutely ripped Delaney to shreds last season(not that its difficult). I'd imagine £8million would be about the amount Reading would sell for, although this is really over the top.
