As we are well known as a one man team, it's obvious that we will lose tonight without Craig in the side should he not play. Foregone conclusion. Without Craig, I was wondering if there's anything DJ can possibly do to avert this obvious result and make us more competitive with Reading. How about fitting Bothroyd with leg braces to make him stay on his feet, or promising Chopra a good night out on 29th May?
Considering the occasion and venue, that must be one of the worst shifts I've seen from your boys Sparkey, you really do have my sympathy's, I see some deadwood needs shifting, no passion, no effort, no motivation??............... please log in to view this image
OK, so we are a one man team. It is painfully obvious that we have the wrong mix of players assembled at the club. Defensively naive, no essence of midfield drive, totally lacking in creative ability and an ineffective almost disinterested sharp end. Big changes are needed, not big egos. Time for someone fresh to dismantle and rebuild - we'll not get anywhere with this set up. We flatter on occasions only to deceive. Can anybody really see success next year with the same mix of management and players? I can't.
Got to say after watching it on tele that i was really disappointed with your fans leaving at 0-2 as there was still a chance of a comeback imo. Then for a minority to start pelting Reading players at a throw in was shameful. A doubly sad day for Cardiff, bad luck chaps
You have to change the philosophy at Cardiff, as you have proved that throwing money at big name signings does not make a football team, you need to get a manager in that likes to play the game the right way, then he will bring in the players that have the skills for such total football, I really do believe that you boys could use all this negative energy to focus your thoughts on playing the game the right way, you fans can be a big influence in getting the club to take on board the example we have shown you here at Swansea, would love to see you develop the game the way we have, it can be done, but first you need to change the football model, bring in the right manager, and you'll be fine. It's time for your directors to step up to the next level in developing your club, just follow our example I'm sure it can be done at Cardiff too, and for crying out loud get rid of that fat lump of lard Chops, and don't have so many Loan players! All the very best lads, I mean it........................ please log in to view this image PS: If Cardiff can embrace this sort of change, then the future is bright!..................... please log in to view this image
No! But would love to see the second best team in Wales improve down the lines of Total Football, that can only be good for the game in Wales!.............. please log in to view this image
second best team.....wow the pressure is off having been number one for so many years Go get em Dragon!!
Total football...ummmm....settle down a little there Dragon. Good football...move it round well...but moving towards total football...welll.....
Hmm, I disagree. We haven't thrown any big money around. Spent ã650k in January and nothing before then since July 2009. Bellamys wages were on the cheap and paid for by the Malaysians. I also love our style of play, we attack and attack directly. It's entertaining, I do agree that we need a better mix of players though.
I agree that the mix is wrong and sometimes we lose our shape because we are trying to accommodate too many 'stars'. Nothing wrong with a few egos on the bench if it gives us better shape. DJ sometimes neglected his 442 to shoe-horn everyone in. On occasions our centre-mid looked good, but too often got over-run. A left back (Darcy must have put his hand up for next season) and two centre mids gives us the nucleus for next season. Everything else would be strengthening.
siam and you too mj, come on now guys if you can't see the difference in the both legs of the Swans play-off game with Forest, and your two legs with Reading, everyone I talked to including the Bluebirds that I sat with, when watching you boys the other night said the football was poles apart, then I'll retire on the subject!.................. please log in to view this image
1. You cannot judge on just two games - we were very poor by our own standards against Reading (and Boro), let alone anyone else's! 2. I did say there was a difference between our styles, I said we were more direct. No-one can deny a difference. But I feel both styles are just as entertaining.
Moving back to the debate. I am not so sure Cardiff need to make any drastic changes but could do with some better players at the back. From what I have seen this season, Bluebirds attack and batter the opponents that way but if the forwards do not show (as happened against Middlesbrough & Reading) they look lost and the defenders can not cope sufficiently well.
Agreed! We need a solid, injury free keeper (I actually like Marshall a lot). Gerrard coming back will strengthen our centre back rotation. I think we could do with another SuperKev but Quinn is good enough. Hudson coming back will be huge for us, too. I think we put so much emphasis on attack, we are always going to concede goals and when we don't score we really are in trouble! I personally really hope to see the return of Earnshaw next season. Sell Chopra as he doesn't seem to have the attitude anymore and bring someone who will always give 100% and is a demon finisher.
Is it possible Chopra has not done the business and adopted a negative attitude because he has not been a regular in the team this season, as a consequence has lost his 'mojo'?
Maybe the injuries have affected him, but he has always spent too much time of the match not being involved in it.
