Just been looking at the league table, and seen as well as having lost 14 games we have drawn 14 games. (5 have been since Feb 2) It has come to my conclusion with City on 38 points and needing a win, had they scored ONE GOAL in ANY of those 14 DRAWN games, City fans probably would not be as so nervous and we would probably be fairly safe now. Now, we signed a striker from Leeds in January didn't we? wonder if he might have scored that missing goal in one of those 5 drawn games since February had he been given a proper chance ? Why oh Why does Hughton insist on trying not to lose a game instead of going for the win?
Holts penalty miss in the last minute against Southampton stands out in my mind as the two points we are short of
Don't forget the avoidable defeats to both Wigan and Stoke and the outrageous decision by the ref to not give us a penalty against Sunderland.
And the goal Holt should have scored vs Sunderland before he lunged in on their keeper! That was a huge chance!
And the poor equaliser conceded vs Swansea. That could have been avoided if Garrido wasnt so useless!
I used to analyse key moments from previous moments but so do most fans from their clubs. There have been many, I understand that. We are where we are and you just have to look to the next game. With just WBA at home, we've got to go for the win and see where that takes us. Just ONE goal will be enough for us this Sunday, either 1-0 or 5-4 if you mean one goal difference.
But just as validly, we have won games that we had no right to and didnt deserve to... Over a season these things do balance out. The table doesn't lie, we are where we are because of a really bad run of poor results. Personally I think CH has made serious tactical errors, how often this season have we been playing well, gone ahead and then tried to pull up the drawbridge and defend to the last man, only to concede a goal after soaking up wave after wave of attacks? It's for this reason in the main that I am now drifting towards the CH out camp....
Sure but look how tight it this season. I guess every other team around us is saying the same thing, other than Villa who do seem to be on the up
