AS IT SAYS ON THE TIN.

David ‘Junior’ Hoilett is a hot commodity. Due to become a free agent this summer, the 21-year-old Canadian is a wanted man by many Premier League teams. Whilst Blackburn want to retain his services, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Sunderland have all displayed an interest in the winger, with Martin O’Neill in particular desperate to the keep him in the Premier League.

Yet his job of enticing Hoilett became harder as according to a Daily Mail report, both Bayern Munich and Marseille are interested in obtaining the services of Hoilett this summer.

With the interests of Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool cooling in recent weeks, as they look to address managerial and other squad needs first, Sunderland, Bayern and Marseille look set to fight it out for the signature of the Canadian youngster.

For Hoilett, the obvious option for immediate success would be to join the Champions League finalists. Bayern would give the 21- year-old an opportunity to play European football whilst competing for domestic silverware, something the Canadian will find attractive after battling relegation this season.

In addition, Hoilett has already spent time in Germany, going on loan to SC Paderborn and St Pauli during his time at Blackburn meaning adaptation issues shouldn’t be of major concern. Plus with names such as Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery in the side, he will able to improve his ability behind two of the best wingers in today’s game.

Despite an impressive run in the Champions League that saw them get to the quarter finals, Marseille were eventually knocked out by Bayern Munich. A mid table Ligue 1 side this season, Marseille is not as appealing a destination for Hoilett as they struggle to perform consistently.

The Canadian winger could choose to join the French side if he wishes to be a part of a developing team, however such motivations will likely draw him more towards Sunderland.

The Black Cats have been a fervent admirer of ‘Junior’ and, unless a top four prospect expresses an interest in the winger, they should be a strong contender for his signature this summer.

Despite Sunderland seeming stuck mid table, Martin O’Neill has developed a tough Premier League side that are only 4 points from 7th place. If he joined Wearside, Hoilett would instantly command a starting position and would provide an important attacking threat for this Sunderland team.

It is almost certain the David Hoilett will leave Blackburn come the end of this season, with two destinations the most likely depending on his personal wishes. If he chooses to stay in England then Sunderland could be a great fit for Hoilett, providing him a chance to develop under a clever manager and in a team that will surely push for Europe next season.

In Bayern, Hoilett has a suitor that will help him win silverware and where he can develop behind two of the best to play his position. However, potential playing time restrictions in Munich may steer him towards Sunderland (or any similar English suitors). Martin O’Neill’s side may be the best option for the Canadian, as he continues to mature into a top-class winger.

I like the tone of this.

Hoillett would be magnificent for us, add a real extra dimension to us.

Article makes sense as well, he won't displace Ribery, will he. Ribery, incidentally is on €210,000 a week!

    What. The. ****.

We can't compete with attraction of Bayern, but we can borrow him from them for a season or two!!
