On the basis we make it......and surely we will now......who would you like to play in the first game? No doubt we will play the first one home, West Ham, Southampton possibly, Birmingham or Blackpool. Personally I would fear West Ham mostly, and would prefer Southampton or Brum/Blackpool. I don`t really expect to get through but it`s good to get the opportunity.

4th place is still attainable IMO. But I'd take just being in the playoffs.
I'd prefer to miss whoever loses the saints/wh battle over 2 legs. As we've shown already this season we can beat any of the teams involved (I know we didn't beat blackpool) in the playoff hunt. But I'd rather only have to deal with saints or wh squads in a one off.

I don't care TBH I have said it a few times this season if we make it Great because we didn’t expect it. Making it was always going to be the hard part this season because we did lose lots of quality over the summer and are the shadow off the side we were in recent years. That said the one thing this side has that the others didn’t is the never say die attitude that makes us more difficult to beat and if you don’t get beat over those 3 games you got a chance.

My belief is different this year compared to recent years. Can we make the playoff ??? HMMMMMMM will this squad fight more if they do ???? HELL YES!! On that alone we got a chance. Bring them on who ever it might be!!

If we do make the playoffs it will be a fantastic season for all concerned with Cardiff City ,MM has done a fantasic job since taking over and signed a couple of real pearlers .

We really have been spoilt over the last four seasons and lets be fair most of us did not think we would be in this position with three games to go with basically a new team from last season .

Lets look at the last two seasons playoff lottery and it seems the team going into it are not favs at all which for us will make a welcome change as for a one off game (yes i know its two legged the semi`s) we are still a very hard team to beat and as shown we can beat anyone on our day .

    CCFC till i die .

Good morning all, long time no comment!

I believe that the way things are going 72 points will be enough, will we make it? I dont want to tempt fate so Im not going to stick my neck out.

However it does seem though that no one wants the playoff places, whoever gets the last 2 places will have limped over the line.

If we do make it I am more confident that in seasons past, we seem to be able to grind out results and can put in performaces like the CC final when we need to. My only worry is when Miller is off form we really struggle for goals but our defence is as good as it has ever been in the Championship IMO

Yes Aber has his music thread now known as rubber ball, Clingo & Sparky still post, though we have lost a few over the season. I must admit I miss Blue Prophet, always good for a laugh.

    Keep posting when available.

If we get to the playoffs - and a lot can still happen - quite frankly I don't care who we get as no games will be easy. Also, I don't want to go in with any expectation having had 3 seasons of high expectations being shot down in flames.

Take it a game at a time, if we do well then brilliant and move on to the next one in the same frame of mind but if not then we have still exceeded the expectations we had last August and had another absolute roller coaster of a season.

Cardiff 's best chance at getting to Wembley is to push past Blackpool & play Birmingham in the semi . I don't thing Cardiff have enough in the tank to take West Ham on over 2 games . If Malky & the boys can get past Birmingham , they'll be well ready for anyone in the one game final .

Watcha ESP - Good to see you again mate. <ok>

Given recent form, especially at CCS, I'm far from convinced that the play-offs are a forgone conclusion. Derby are mathematically still in the equation and NC has them playing with a lot of belief. They're more than capable of holding us to one point and could nick all three. As for Leeds, well NW has quite a good record against us, and with Snodgrass and McCormack being the type of players who could undo us, they too could turn us over. Then we come to Palace who are safe but will have revenge on their minds. I think like the rest of the season, we could end up relying on results elsewhere.

IF, we get to the play-offs, I think we can hold any of the home teams on their own patch, the challenge will be at CCS.

Hello Tenby - thought we hadn't seen you around for a while - welcome back matey.

As Rhondda said, a few others have gone missing - CityAce was a regular, as was SBFF (SweetBlue) - would be good to see them post again as well. <ok>

As for the thread, it's written in the stars - no matter who we get in the semis, we will take on Holloway & Co at Wembley again, and this time get it right.

Bothroyd won't go off injured after a few minutes and we haven't got Etuhu to bring on instead <doh>, so we can't fail.

(P.S. Malky will also be there instead of DJ)

Derby and Leeds at home have been good to us in recent seasons, I fully expect 6 points from the 2 games. Also, I only think Boro are our only real threat for that last playoff spot and what with them having to play Southampton next Saturday it could hopefully be sealed next week without needing anything away at Palace.

As for the playoff campaign itself, at times like that anything can happen, I bet we all thought we were going to get hammered by Liverpoool...

We just have to keep plugging away.
One thing about this team is they won't give it up. They have shown some balls this season that's for sure.

Maybe Kenny needs to go to the Ashley Young school of diving to help us out ;) (I would be so embarrassed if one of our lads did that!)

I think we're due a bit of luck at home in front of goal. I know our home form has been poor recently but I'm very confident about Derby. Leeds have the couple of game changers who could cause a problem but their season is over. IF and it's a massive if we can win both I don't think we'll need anything from the Palace game.

I ain't counting no chickens yet. No easy games for us I'm afraid. Barnsley should have been an easy 3 points but it sounded (ccplayer) like we made hard work of it and as said before, we don't like playing "weaker" teams.

Agree with that Stevo. Recent home form has certainly been poor compared with the first half of the season - though as you say, with a little bit of luck it could have been oh so different.

Missed the Hull game, but the four I've watched since, Burnley, Cov, Millwall and Watford were all very frustrating. With that elusive "bit of luck" that everybody needs now and again, we could quite easily have another half dozen points on the board and be clear in 4th.

We must be due for the ball to go in more often than it hits the woodwork or one of our own players getting in the way of a goalbound shot.

Combine that with the lack of a tangible goal-scoring threat from either an "in your face" frontman like Lambert, or a smaller elusive player like Rossco or Chops, and we are where we are right now.

This sounds a bit contradictory, but Derby tomorrow is all about keeping a clean sheet. I think a single goal could win it and I hope we bag itn at the right end - no own goals at this stage of the season please! <doh>

A win tomorrow and it will be two to go Dom. Fancy us to win by two, but I have predicted a 1-0 win for the sake of Bluesheep!

Sounds like it goes against a lot of the thinking here but i fancy us against west ham. The pressure on them at home after missing autos would be immense. Then get our revenge on Blackpool in the final. Sorted.
