One big positive this season..

We've scored 67 goals that puts us in third, 1 goal behind Chelsea and 12 behind Man Utd.

Of course it was inevitable that them shots that were slapping the woodwork last season would eventually start to go in, but even so that's very impressive, Suarez has scored 23 of them which does show we're not reliant on him and we do have players to score goals.

nicely dragged up this is positive, we've been lacking a spread of goals over the past few years.

 

I think if you look at henderson's raw stats it is completely shocking that rodgers dropped him for a half fit useless player like allen.

anyway.....

Gerrards assists are more impressive than goals due to the pen taking. Both sturridge and coutinho have had half a season to go do what they've done so their positions are all the more impressive.... I'd like a before christmas and post christmas type of comparison too.

I think we've score more proportionally since Christmas window.

 

Hands up, all those who said last summer, "Suarez isn't a natural goalscorer."

 

There was a few I'm glad to say for once I didn't.

 

I'll happily put my hand up and I'll say it now because he isn't. A natural goalscorer doesn't have a one goal to every ten chances ratio!!!

 

Didn't think Downing had that many assists, fair play on that front.

Suarez has been ****ing immense - think I've calmed down after all the **** (Newcastle result helped) but he really pissed me off.

I know Suarez makes a lot of the chances him self but, if Robbie Fowler had the chances Suarez has had he would have got over forty goals easily!

 

look suarez misses a lot cos his philosophy is to shoot as early as he can. this means he does snatch at a few but in the box he is lethal.

Really? Sorry, but I just don't agree! Its not just snatch shots and at the end of windy runs that he misses, he misses a lot of chances that just fall to in the box too. With the chances he has had this season, he should have over forty goals to his name.

Note: I'm not moaning about him, I am more than happy with his (footballing) contributions this season and IMO he has been the best player in the league.

 

Good all-round footballer by today's standards then.
