Safc.com has posted up its regular on this day feature. On this day in 1997 was the first ever game at the SOL and the first goal from an unknown forward we all came to love and adore that is now known as Super Kev. Its hard to believe that, that game was now 14 years ago. The game also holds a special significance to myself due to the fact at the mere age of 11 i became the first person to draw the lottery tickets at the SOL. I wandered down to the dugout at half time to try and get some autographs and was randomly asked if i would like to draw the lottery tickets out on the pitch and thought why not. I still wish to this day i had seen my dads expression of shock. I always remember running back to our seats to tell him what had just happened and his first words were "i carnt take you bloody no were".
Class mate. Makes me feel old mind, i vividly remember SKP's goal, the atmosphere was electric that night. 14 years, jeeeeesus.
My mother used to say she could take me anywhere but could not leave me. As I got older I began to understand what she meant. God I miss that woman so much.
