You know what? Such was the pain and general wish to get it all over with of the second season in the Premier League, this had been erased from my mind completely. All I really remember was beating Man City 2-1 at home!
I remember that particular spanking, 47 quid or so for the most cramped seat ever experienced at a football match! I remember Dawson (I think) being laid out on the floor when ManU scored their second, which was not good form, but most of all I remember that man for man (Rooney aside) it was a pretty equal game, and that we did not desreve to be pumped 4-0
I went that day and i have to admit we where not as bad as the scoreline suggests, at 2-0 we could have grabbed a couple and who knows what the result would of being.
Yeah Rooney cost me a lot on Fantasy PL, I was going to sign him & when I did he stopped bloody scoring.
We held our own against them for 80 mins as I recall. I even remember Ghilas looking particularly useful that day. In the end though Rooney made the difference with a hat-trick in the last 10 mins.
