10 years ago today was our 125 match v Aston Villa. I was lucky enough to have a ticket. Got stuck on the underground for amost an hour making me 5 or 10 minutes late for the match. I missed all the build up but was happy as Berbatov put us 1 up. And then the next 50 minutes were a footballing nightmare but the last 20 minutes were the stuff of legends. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&s...8QwqsBCCIwAQ&usg=AOvVaw1EGOvY7DwdXBh9QT_VDy-4 Anyone else at the game or got memories of it? We could use the thread for other memorable (good or bad) tottenham moments down the years if people like.
I was there too, mate, but my memories of it before I viewed the clip were fuzzy. What comes through though is just how little changes: - The 'Spursy' way of doing it, - The pure quality of Gareth Bale and...... - Ashley Young was a nasty little **** then and still is!!
I was there but memories had faded. Jesus, it was hard work watching that Vid, we've come a long way defensively since.
I was there that day. Hell, we drew a lot of games that season, a bit like 2015/16 and then some. Ironically, our promotion was salvaged by one final draw against Southampton.
On October 2nd 2016 we beat Man City 2-0 becoming the first team to beat them all season in any competition. If I recall correctly it was the last time that Lamela played for us before his injury.
0-0 wasn't it. I remember being dragged to the cinema that day (v much against my wishes, but I was 12 years old and had no say) and it was no easy job finding out the result. A search for the Evening News with the results on the back page, in the column along the bottom. Probably as well. 0-0 would have given me a panic attack.
Was 11 years old and it was my first season of religously following spurs results. Was listening on the radio ... that season was a perfect introduction to the stress of being a spur!!!
I'd been to just about every game that season, home and away, but I just couldn't get a ticket for that game. I remember praying by the radio. I was 15 but I'll never forget the agonies of it. If we'd lost that game, I wonder how it might have changed things? It probably would have seen the end of Keith Burkinshaw and certainly no Ossie and Ricky.
Doesn't bare thinking about! Hoddle and Perryman may have also left had we not been promoted ... there'd have been no Graham Roberts, Tony Galvin or, a few years on, no Ray Clemence
On this day in 1899 Spurs drew 1-1 with Newton Heath in the F.A Cup at Northumberland Park. William Joyce scored for Spurs, Joseph Cassidy for Newton Heath. Spurs won the replay 5-3. When the teams next met 10 years later, Newton Heath were known as Manchester Utd.
On this 26th May 1900 Spurs received their first champions trophy, the Southern League Shield. The Champions League final will take place on the 26th May 2018 in Kiev.
