2015: Leicester dismissed manager Nigel Pearson with the club saying that "fundamental differences in perspective exist between us".
It's fair to say that things have gone fairly well for the Foxes since then.

Weird to think how utterly depressing it was when we got rid of him.

Hope he does well at Derby.

... he may have some pruning to do in the interim, but I could certainly see them going very close by the end of the season ...

I remember how gloomy I felt that day, thinking relegation was inevitable (the pundits agreed with me). Seems a long time ago now!

Its a funny feeling. I am a Pearson fan and still wish he was part of the club. On the other hand we are the Champions and I doubt very much that would have happened had he stayed. I wish him well at Derby and hope they have a successful season.

The job he did, twice - both with sinking ships - is quite honestly incredible

Regardless of how well we have done under Ranieri. Nigel Pearson will go down in history as one of the very best manager the club has had. 2 league titles and the great escape. He built a mentality and NP backroom staff that Ranieri has achieved the unthinkable with

A pre-season friendly v Sheep at the KP would be well worth attending.

...nothing to disagree with there ... but I can say, hand on heart, we would not have won the Premier League this season with Nige in charge ... Vardy, Drinkwater and Simpson playing as regulars in the positions they did and in a classic Italian formation and style are very much Ranieri...
