SC just indicated that he expects a player to leave shortly, sounded like he was indicating a first team player.

Place your bets, Bryan, Agard, El Kebab, Freeman?

If El Abd should free up some substantial funding as he is reportedly on stupid wages.

Stupid purchase means stupid wages usually and I ask, when will we ever learn, when will we ever learn? If we need to sell El-Abd to generate substantial funds then we are in trouble.

Before he arrived he had allegedly indicated to friends that he was being offered double his Brighton salary + add ons.
Not sure who was responsible for his arrival as he does not appear to be an SC type player.

El Bad is the easy guess. But who else could it be?

Football is run by greedy agents and players. If he is encouraged to go by his agent, for a massive signing on fee, double his wages and the
agent gets a stupid six figure fee, loyalty goes out the window. Football is heading into oblivion on its current path, many clubs will
have their ever increasing overdrafts pulled by the banks and then go bust, unless some level of sanity is restored.

I knew you were a smart man Red Hub and it seems that I agree with just about all your comments on 606. Nice one!

Do you mean that maybe the owners and directors of clubs should no longer endorse players who demand massive wages (like SL wants to?) only to be met with abuse and demands across forums about, f you want to 'compete' in the respective division you have to be 'prepared to pay' the going rate, or feckless supporters demanding more and more signings and are practically crying with frustration if the club doesn't make a new signing every day of the summer?

Andre Gray will start for Burnley this weekend against us, as we weren't prepared to pay his extortionate wage demands and Burnley with there parachute payments were, the club was criticised by a large proportion of our own for not giving him what he wanted, it seems to me some want it both ways. it remains to be seen whether it will pay off for Burnley but I am beginning to suspect it will! what is certain is he will surely score against us tomorrow!

and I for one will be betting on it.......

On the face of it, El-Abd wasn't a bad signing. He was loved at Brighton, but simply couldn't reproduce that form here. That doesn't make him a bad player.

In terms of wages, we shouldn't be paying stupid wages for anyone that plays in the same division as us. I was okay with a £6m bid for Dwight Gayle because he had Premier League quality. £6-9m for Gray is a ridiculous price because he's not shown any ability to be prolific at this level.

I'd like us to target more foreign talent. The domestic market is expensive, and we can buy comparable players for half the price. If we can land more like Kodjia we'll be pushing for mid-table, and these players can look at us as a stepping stone towards the Premier League, either with us or for an inflated price.
