Rumour has it that Luuk de Jong might be off to Borussia Mönchengladbach and gets his presentation on monday or tuesday.

The German newspaper Rheinische Post says it's a done deal and that De Jong already has already done his medical test on Saturday and that a press conference about his arrival in Mönchengladbach is due in the next couple of days. Last week Twente turned down a bid from the Germans and a transfer for De Jong seemed a long way ahead as Twente CEO Munsterman still wanted the 20 million euros(16,5 million pounds) he initially said the player was worth.

On Sunday De Jong repeated his wish to join Borussia. "It's a great leap in my career, but the clubs are still in talks. I think there's a 50% possiblity that i'm leaving Twente."

Can't give you last De Jong thread rep I'm afraid.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Cove again.

Bit rich for us so onto the next one. I'm sure Mr Carr will find us one just as good for half the price!

Confirmed today, Luuk de Jong transfers to Monchengladbach for 15 million euros, 12,5 million pounds(i was spot on with my prediction more than a month ago<nahnah>).

His replacement will likely be Luc Castaignos from Inter Milan.

I had a feeling all along this one was a bit rich for us and its clear he also wanted to go there. When you throw in he'd have struggled to command a starting spot with us, its probably best for all parties. I do think the lad will go on and do very well.

I don't really want to start a thread but I was thinking the other day who might be decent options to fill out our squad for the coming season. The guys who wouldn't start every game but could play a significant part. One who I'd be tempted to take a chance on from the championship would be Tom Ince at Blackpool. I watched the lad last season and he looked pretty good to me. Very skilful and pacy, good technical levels. I thinking he might go on again this season and he obviously had an excellent grounding at Liverpool. They have another who I have often thought would be a good back up option in Matty Phillips but he is more of risk. Very very pacy but his technical levels maybe fall below PL standard. I think these kind of lads would be good to balance out the wide areas rather than bringing in a superstar on big wages.
