A few weeks ago Bristol lost a lot of its bus routes it affected all walks of life, mainly the more elderly and definetly people needing to use Whitchurch hospital. What did our local mayor, our self centred Marv, do about it ... apparently nothing!!! .. nothing he could do??? allegedly! Enter our metro mayor elected to oversee the area for a wide expanse around Bristol ... within a couple of weeks of the service not being available he arranged a number of buses/ routes to be restarted. In angelic's and my area a bus service served the community from Stockwood to Imperial park serving a supermarket and the hospital. Stockwood is the end of the number 2 & 2a [ first bus to run on non fossil fuel ] but to get Brislington no direct route instead a different bus takes you on a 3 mile detour to get the Brislington village from the sports ground halfway along WEST TOWN LANE .. soon to cancelled next week or so! Why cant the 2a turn right instead of left following the number 2? .. and take in part of that route! .... ANYWAY thankyou "metro mayor" for showingyour worth..........
What are buses? I live in North Somerset just off the main A38 and public transport is a ****ing joke!! The only time I ever use them is when I go to a park and ride !!
Can't believe I'm reading plaudits about Dan Norris, the MP for where I live for years It was only the Bristol 'left' that got the con artist elected as metro mayor. Nobody from the old Wansdyke area would give him the time of day and didn't vote for him. His nose was as deep as any in the MPs expenses fiasco. Jg2 - have you met his dog ? He takes it everywhere showing the gullible what a decent chap he is. He's a con artist end of.

how not to rob a bank ... DO NOT USE A BUS AS THE GETAWAY VEHICLE!!... A man was arrested on a Bristol bus after being pepper sprayed following a suspected bank robbery at Cabot Circus. Avon and Somerset Police said the man has also been arrested on suspicion of assaulting two emergency service workers during the incident. "Witnesses reported seeing a similarly-described man get on a bus, leading officers to stop a bus at Lawrence Hill roundabout. A suspect was detained by 10.32am and officers have recovered a quantity of cash. "As officers deployed PAVA spray on the bus, a replacement service was used to enable the other passengers to continue their journey. Officers would like to thank the driver and passengers for their support and patience during this unexpected and no doubt alarming interruption to their journey. my cheer up of the day .... so far!
Apparently there are now complaints about the Falcon bus (connecting Plymouth with Lulsgate and Bristol) not stopping at the Holiday Inn on the A38 and allowing asylum seekers on. A spokesperson cited one of the issues raised was that it prevented them from getting their legal aid!!
so thats good a round robin to stop them getting on .. to get legal aid .... to get the bus to stop ! ..... sounds like a good plan!
