Somewhere at the back of my mind is the thought that someone on the Board wanted to get hold of this - please log in to view this image If it wasn't you but you don't have the book, it's an absolute must. A classic by the legend and has gone up on ebay at a very reasonable price; a snip even. Blimey if it was my request that's well remembered Cottager that was for my holiday just after I found out the wife was pregnant and my little one is now 14 months old so two years ago!!!
Bid made, I remember finding one on ebay at the time but was going for something ridiculous like £80.00
Hmmm, tempted to compete with you, cookie. I had a copy but leant it to someone 15 years ago and never got it back.
Feel free Captain, no hard feelings. If I do get it, I'm more than happy forwarding it on after reading it!
You are correct Cottager I'm looking forward to it!! Captain give us a month to read it ( I'm an annoyingly slow put it down all the time reader) and I will give you a pm
I'm a long way into the book already and have loved every minute of it so far but it's amazing how your mind plays tricks on you...... This season was my best Fulham season ever, just above the European season, I had been taken along to a few games of the previous couple of seasons but this season I was 15 and me and my mates were old enough to go alone to every hone game and most away games. I remember this season clearly, nearly every amazing goal, Brookers volley in the humiliating defeat away to Ipswich long forgotten players Simon Stewart and Lea Barkus, the on loan Christer Warren so imagine my amazement when the book mentions we signed Paul Parker on loan for the life of me I cannot remember this, I don't remember him playing for us this season at all it's strange, I honestly remember it all, Terry Angus in the crowd at Orient The dive Conroy took to get a draw at home to Wigan but I do not remember Paul Parker. A few other things I remember slightly differently to Morgan is the penalty at home to Cambridge, Two nil up with Conroy on a hattrick Morgan states Conroy wanted to take it and Blake was happy to give it to him but Morgan made the decision for Blake to take it, my memory is Conroy and Blake having quite an argument over it and there was no way Blake was not having it. Secondly Rob Scott , I remember him being quite pacey, enough to cause problems but Morgan talks about him like he is Walcott and that there wasn't a defender on the planet who could catch him!!
Parker definitely played in the 6-0 win against Darlington, I think that was his debut. I remember umming and ahing about whether to make the effort to go, then I heard we'd signed Parker and that made my mind up. He was excellent that day, but as the book shows, it wasn't the happiest of loan spells for either him or the club.
