Thought members may want to add their take of what they have planned. Myself, Mrs Aussie and I are hosting our adult children and grandkids, along with our mothers, my brother and sister. There coming in from around the countryside and a special meal of turkey, leg ham, king prawns and some other goodies await them. Mrs Aussie has been lining the house with Xmas tinsel and alike whilst I have been sprucing up the outside playground equipment for the grandkids. The fridge is being stocked ( .......and restocked, hic!) with beverages for all and the garden mowed. The house is looking so good, I'm thinking of calling the local real estate and getting a valuation! ( ...ok, I won't ) Anyway, enough about me, I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish all you good folk ( seasoned members & newbies ) the very best for Christmas and the New Year. I sincerely hope everyone that is getting together with family, enjoy it to the max and those who, for whatever reason are spending the day alone, I would like to wish you all the very best from your extended family, here on the not606 QPR forum board. Kind regards, John ( Aussie, from the land of Oz ) please log in to view this image

I'll be wishing I was out in the woods on my own in my hammock, under a tarp with a bag of green and bottle of whiskey. (Not being sarcastic here. Not got many fond memories of xmas.)
Just done my 2014/15 tax return and I only owed an extra £9.85 so Christmas has come early at SB Towers. Despite rating negative on the religiosity scale I really like Christmas. Mainly for the feasting, which is good, and really what it's all about, the old pagan/ Roman festival to stuff yourself mid winter and wait for spring. Massive rib of Dorchester Beef this year, tired of trying to inject flavour into turkeys. My daughter, whilst supporting the beef choice, is insisting we have all the trimmings for turkey, so slightly oddly pigs in blankets and 2 different stuffings will sit alongside the Yorkshire puddings. I've drawn the line at bread sauce. Family convening at my place because I like cooking and can tell them to get out of the kitchen while I do it.
I'm very sorry to hear that, Qual. It always strikes me as particularly sad when an individual's view of Christmas is tarnished by certain events, such as the loss of a loved one. It is, of course, none of my business as to the circumstances of your dislike of the festive period, but I wish you all the best nonetheless.
Thanks Uber. I'll not go into it but your thought are much appreciated. What is it they say about a kind word cures a thousand ills. Sadly that doesn't apply for me but it's the thought that counts. Much love to you and yours and everyone else over the festive period. Be safe!!!!!
Back to London/Cambridge area for a few days with each parents...best thing about this year will be first Christmas with my boy! Plus an opportunity to get the grandparents to do some babysitting so his Mum and I can go and have a quiet drink for the first time in 6 months. Happy Christmas one and all.
Wait 2 or 3 years mate, it only gets better. My little 'un is 3 and a half now and is so excited about Christmas this year. Like Stan, I don't get the whole religious thing but have always enjoyed this time of year as a perfect opportunity to meet up with family and old friends. Having a young son makes it even more special (he's even getting his first proper QPR kit this year) and with another boy due in February it can only get better. Hope everyone on here has a good one, whether thats with family, in a church or on a hammock with some green. Be Happy.
Taking four days off and it'll be a busman's holiday for me as we're visiting various relatives in places as diverse as Bermondsey, Grove Park, Selsdon and Royston. It's all about family and our two latest Grandsons aged 3 and 17 months will provide much of the entertainment. Whatever your circumstances, I hope you all have a wonderful time at Christmas and best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year...
Well for me one things for sure. On Christmas day I will feel bloated and fart lots due to eating too many sprouts and fall asleep to a film on tv!
Got a 6 day break this year after delivering prescents to our 5 Kids and 15 grandchildren we will be spending a couple of days with friends before the football takes over. Seasons greetings hope you all enjoy the festivities
Down to Bmouth to pick up youngest and her man Josh tomorrow. Oldest and I work until Christmas eve. Christmas morning we will all meet again to exchange presents, oldest will go to her home to have her Christmas with her man. Youngest, hubbie and I will have a half vegan/half meat Christmas lunch, then do nothing. Boxing Day, youngest is working on an animated film in Soho, and being paid for it...no idea how she is going to get there. I will talk to Hubbie so he will be glad when I disappear for the footy Yes mine will be the most downbeat Christmas ever...next year it will be different
Well that's mighty fantastic there UTR's but for safety's sake, l sincerely hope no one in the house smokes! Might want to put the local fire department on speed dial.
Presents with Debbie in the morning then round to my mum's before noon while my better half goes to her parents. Big meal and I'll wash up while sampling some new CDs. Debs joins us late afternoon and then a few drinks, TV and then back home. Boxing day will be watching the match sat on my hands next to my good lady in her usual seat in the front row of the die hard locals then back to her parents for buffet and drinks. We'll host drinks and buffet for her parents and my mum and brother on the Monday night while playing quizzes. I hope every one of the Not QPR family has a fantastic time and to those that don't enjoy the festive season for whatever reason, I hope you find at least passable distractions and get some enjoyment wherever possible. Kindest wishes to all, Matt
I've got my dad up from Devon for a week, I'm hoping between me and my family we can keep him as upbeat as possible (we lost mum 23rd Dec last year). I think there could be quiet a lot of alcohol consumption. Whatever everyone's doing I hope they have a good time Merry Christmas everyone
All the missus family around for Chrimbo dinner, which I'll be cooking, plenty of bevvie for me, then crash on the couch whilst the women watch naff tv. Off for an overnighter in Edinburgh day after for a bit of fun, then heading down to Wiltshire to see family for New Year. A little rumour is that Mrs Monkey has bought tickets for the Hull game for me and junior, which will be something special as I've not been to HQ for about 15 years and he's never been - if true, will try to catch up with some Not606 members for a beer beforehand! Whatever you're all up to, best wishes for the festive period, and good luck for 2016.
