Although I have been a bit negative about Dyce, I have to say that he comes across very well and has a good commanding presence about him which I failed to see before. I genuinely wish him all the best, and I really hope we are not stuffed by every team that we play against in the early part of the season because that will undermine his new confidence. Good luck Seano!

Interesting how little attention his comments have attracted. Along with many people I am still in shock with recent events.

However I am always wary of managers who talk tactics to the press. I want to see the result on the pitch. So What he says does little to inspire me at the moment... and with the squad we have... we have so little depth we could be out of our depth in a few weeks....

Let's see a few more signings please

I think he needs time he is the cheap option but then so was Betty Boothroyd. He was found out for tactics and has never recovered. I like the sound of Dych and with Ian Woan with him then I think they could make a good team. However we do need some experiance bought in.

Richard Duffy at Exeter would be an excellent left back and Chris Zabroski a good centre forward who used to be at Torquay.

I think the positivity can only be a good thing. Dyche says all the right things, let's hope they translate on the pitch!

I liked the title of this thread :emoticon-0116-evilg I was hoping it might be what it says on the tin. However

Sadly some previous posts praised an owner who didn't interfere but others now criticise Baz for not speaking out.

'orns ask for reassurance but when the manager speaks out about strategy and management style he is criticised for sharing tactics with the press

and most agree that we want the right quality well thought out signings, but we want them this week! <steam>

I guess if we lead the Championship at Xmas the management will be cut some slack on here - possibly :emoticon-0111-blush

I know a lot of it is genuine concern but it worries me that by being over the top with the negativity we could be persuading casual viewers not to buy that season ticket or not plan for that first game!

    OK I'll get my coat

Kc I think people were alluding to perfect world visions where ex managers werent trying to transplant watford to wales!, plus getting in some replacements before all the pre season games are to be played , you know try to get a gelled and settled squad together before things start up again! a reasonable ask a few weeks back!
Now a fairly impossible task!! but we have to try , we have to Give SD as much chance as possible and all this waiting to the last minute isnt helping the playing aspect ! Even if it does save a few quid!

It's not yet the last minute Norway..i know pre-season helps, but it is just that..pre-season..the window doesn't close til 1 September, KC is right..there's too much panic. We should just trust that they are getting on with the job...and we know that they want to so there's no doubt in my mind that they will do everything necessary to make sure that they can hit the ground running when the season starts.

In the last few years we don't normally get our loan players till close to the window closing and I really only expect us to buy a defender & a midfielder so they can come in anytime but I'm not holding my breath. Players will be concerned about signing with us now.

But as NNW alluded too in another thread you bring in lower league players we need time to get them fit and ideally give them game time ( one of the main reason for pre season games is to help bed newbies in)!
Prem loaness dont really need as much time as they will normally be fit and adaptable like TC!
Weeks ago we talked about the importance of keeping the spine of the team together! If a member of that spine leaves ,it will take time for a replacement to gel in ! thus doing the business at the tag end of pre season and indeed after the season starts is playing wise far from ideal! Although I understand the financial reasons of doing so!
Another Disadvantage of bringing players in late, is that like the school playground teams , the best players have already been picked and only the dross remains!
