Doesn't seem like we've picked up any injures so barring MVG it's a full squad to pick from. Over the coming hours it's likely KDB will be gone with Matic coming in. Assuming we sign Matic, It shouldn't need him against this Man U side but JM may throw him in due to the lack of options we have in that position. Barring a miracle we will likely be 4 points behind City and 5 behind Arsenal going into this game so 3 points is important. These midtable teams have messed up our season before and although we aren't playing a top quality side it's still important we don't get complacent and apply the same level of application on Sunday as we would to one of the top teams. Let's make it three in a row against these, owe them a beating after Clattenburg cheated us last season. please log in to view this image
i agree we have to avoid against complacency and treat the match as if we were playing one of our title rivals
Chelsea have often struggled against the smaller sides this season, Stoke City, Sunderland etc. Having said that, I think they will have too much for Manu.
There's no excuses really, we're at home so we don't travel and there's also 8.25 days rest. We have to show the same level of professionalism we did against Derby and Hull
Since the PL began in 1992 Chelsea have the best overall record against MU! I know Jose wont be able to share a bottle of wine with Moyes afterwards, but I'm sure he'll be equally eyeballs out for 3 points! Whatever the Gooners and City do we can only focus on our own games and hope they trip up! 3 points at the Etihad--now wouldn't that be sheer heaven!
It could be a long time before we suffer a defeat in this fixture again. 3 points here would not only keep our title chances on track but it would also end any slim chance they have (even Moyes would have to publicly come out and admit any feint chance they had is over) and also leave their position for top 4 precarious and give us more leverage re: Rooney this coming summer.
The only reason I could want Rooney to leave is that he can be a red card waiting to happen at times and is injury prone, other than that i hope we keep him obviously. If it happens hopefully Mata will come the other way
You'll have no leverage with Rooney if you don't make CL football With the money you stand to lose if you don't make it + Rooney being in the last year of his contract you'll HAVE to sell. Come this summer Rooney is more or less in charge of his own future and under FIFA ruling he can himself out of his contract should he choose to. Mata is contracted to Chelsea until 2016 so as far as this summer goes, we're in charge
Can't see Utd getting anything from this game. Since you're going to win you might as well make it a complete humiliation. For the lols.
In theory, could Rooney buy out his contract in July for £12-13m (guessing that's his annual salary give or take a million here or there) and receive a signing on fee with Club X for the same amount when moving as a free agent?
We should have the beating of Man Utd now, Fergusons great "planning" and "sinking ship" departure has left them with an ageing and under strength side. They need an almost complete rebuild, which no doubt they will get. As for Rooney, good as he is, just can't see him as the long term striker we need. In fact, he looks more and more like an attacking midfielder every game, and we have plenty of those. Maybe Jose has the hots for Maureen ??
