Town, Bristol City and Brighton are all understood to be interested in released Norwich striker Aaron Wilbraham, a player the Blues were eyeing in January. Canaries midfielder Andrew Crofts is also amongst Town’s potential summer targets, while the Blues are amongst a number of Championship clubs monitoring his out of contract team-mate David Fox.

So we are now resorting to chasing our rivals cast offs, **** off Jewell!!

Doubt you'll get Fox, tbh. If he was going to leave, we would of released him, so I would imagine they are talking about a new contract.

Crofts is a solid championship midfielder and Wilbraham will give you 100% every game.<ok>

The problem is, no offence meant, they are budgie cast offs, how embarrassing is that!! I'm sure you would think the same if you found out you were after Ellington and Sonko.

So let's suppose you get a few of our "cast offs" and they do a very good job, you will still despise them?
Does it really matter where a player comes from if he can do better that what you currently have, even from your biggest rivals?

If it happens it will not be the first time in football, nor will it be the last.

The only difference in your argument is that we would not be after any of your current crop of players and if you did have anyone good enough for us to consider, I personally would have no problem if we signed an Ipswich "cast off" as long as he did the job he's paid to do <ok>

Normally I’d wonder what the point would be if players had already shown themselves to be inadequate at prem’ level. After all, we are supposed to be trying to build a squad to 1: get us up, and 2: stay there.

Then again, we have no chance whatsoever of going up next season so that’s a minimum of two more seasons here and some rebuilding when our brave and gallant leaders finally replace PJ. I don’t know about Wilbraham (he struggled in the Championship didn’t he??) but the other two are obviously good performers at this level.

As for the Norwich thing, I couldn’t really care less. I’m only ever moved to ponder Norwich matters due to the constant infestation of trolling nerds on our board.

Frankly, you don't deserve Wilbraham or Crofts. Both are too good for you and both would show too much passion and commitment on the field, so Jewell wouldn't play them.

No issue if they're past Norwich at all.

    Wouldn't mind Crofts.

If they came in and did a job, zero issue.

Royle didn't do so bad as manager, did he.......

Makes no difference to me if they have played for Norwich, I'm sure that the Budgies won't worry to much if they sign Rhodes.

What can we moan about today..........................:emoticon-0118-yawn:

    david fox? <laugh>

no chance of you getting him!!

as for the other two, personally i hope you don't get them because they are both very good players who would improve your team. as for the fact they are 'budgies', so what? we took alan lee and we accepted him because he gave his all for us every week. i mean, he wasn't very good but we were ****e at the time so any grain of effort was enough to get excited about!

I would have a potential issue if any of them were Norwich legends or have previously declared undying love for the club but afaik they havent. With Wilbraham especially, we can not afford not to look at a free transfer. If he's a good player and it means we can add more money to the transfer kitty for other positions then I would be happy.

i'll give you a bit of a pointer on the two city lads ipswich appear to be interested in - there's no way in a million years david fox will leave norwich for ipswich. sorry, he's way, way too good for you. first up wilbraham. the issue some, no, many city fans had with wilbraham is that he doesn't score enough goals. in fact, he scores no goals. however, the nickname 'wilbrahimovic' is part ironic - part true. he is a real handful and has great hold up skills and for a smaller player to feed off would be a dream partner. he was certainly holt's favoured partner. because he rarely scores goals though some fans, who simply don't understand the role he plays, never rated him at all and didn't really give him a chance. at 32 years of age he is experienced and gave man utd and spurs defenders an absolute nightmare! if you can get over his ratio of goals, then you'll appreciate a really good player who just needs to be understood. he might not be a starter for all games though he's a good impact sub. crofts is an excellent championship player but is one of only a handful who hasn't really adapted to the top league. he works tirelessly and has an eye for goal. check out his goal against barnsley (think justin fashanu vs liverpool and you've got it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMQikh_dQD0) and really the only aspect of his game which lets him down is his touch and his awareness sometimes. but top championship player, no doubt. easily worth £1m so best get your cheque book out as i imagine nearly all the championship clubs will want him if he's available <ok>
