From the little I've seen of the Olympic football, and it is little, I'm surprised GB even got this far. Not exactly a team setting any bonfires were they. I haven't watched most of it because it hasn't exactly set fire to my enthusiasm from the start.

Good day for Team GB however. Bleddy good job our people can ride bikes and row. Not so sure about anymore golds from the track and field now.

The only football I have seen is on news or Olympic reports.....havn't seen any live at all.......football at the Olympics just doesn't seem right....this is the first time in many yonks that we have entered........home countries have been scared of being linked together incase it sets a precedent for future World Cups etc.

Well Mrs LaLa was in Cardiff to sample our demise against South Korea.......they certainly didn't get phased about taking penalties......trust a damn Chelsea player to bottle out.

Wth Argyle losing 5-0 as well she didn't have too good a day........at least we watched Athletics,Rowing Cycling etc and saw us win something.

Empty seats !!!.......having applied for seats and got ziltch I find it totally wrong that corporate sponsers can leave blocks of seats unused.

My son managed to get tickets for last Sundays Womens team Archery........I phoned him and asked where were they sitting ......but still could not find them in the crowd.

He also got seats for volleyball during the week as well.

As always the corporates get tickets that fans of something can't. Nothing unusual there but I can see how it would stick in the gullet if you really wanted some. Personally I wouldn't pay good money to watch Archery or Volleyball but I guess some just want to be somewhere near the action live.

Just back today. I wasn't terribly impressed with Cardiff at all - good for shopping but little else to do. Poor Mr lala and lala Junior got dragged around the shops most of Saturday but otherwise we just chilled and watched the olympics on the rather large TV we had in our room. I have found myself immersed in the olympics and have watched it all from sailing (which I don't understand the rules of) to gymnastics (which I don't understand the scoring) and despite what I thought at the beginning I'm really enjoying it. It's amazing what effect a few gold medals can have. What a weekend it has been for team GB, who would have thought Andy Murray would have got gold beating both Djokovic and Federer along the way - truly magical. We have done amazing across the board with the exception of the football...

What can I say, watching team GB is no different to watching England, pitiful really, the usual back passing, lack of commitment and inability to win a penalty shoot out! Reaching the millenium stadium from where the taxi was able to drop us off was in itself an olympic event, the heavens opened and even with raincoat and brolly it was impossible to stay dry but boy were we relieved to find the stadium was under a roof. Fantastic stadium (wasted on the Welsh lol) the atmosphere was unbelievable, union jacks and Mexican waves everywhere and just under full capacity 70,100+ spectators. We settled down into out seats which were directly above the halfway line and just before KO along came 2 S Korean's who sat down next to us much to everyone's amusement. They were very friendly though and on getting their first goal seemed reluctant to celebrate - I told them to go ahead they deserved it. I thought the second penalty which was saved was "soft" and shouldn't have been given. Team GB didn't really get going until late in the match just before Giggs came on - the place erupted but I couldn't bring myself to clap a ManU player. We were never going to win a penalty shoot out and we left the stadium embarassed at losing to the underdog.

It's good to be back in Plymouth, there's no place like it.

The atmosphere outside the stadium despite the rain was fantastic, there were drummers and dancers, it was brill, pity about the fare dished up inside the stadium. Over paid, over sexed (not mentioning any names here) and over the severn bridge that was our team of GB footballers.

I see after today's efforts we have surpassed the total of medals from the last Olympics. I have to say I'm surprised at that as, even though it is on home turf, I didn't think we would do well. Once again though the cycling and rowing have led the way and this time horsey things have joined in. I know the Olympics is about a multitude of sports but for me it was always defined by what happened in the Athletics. Ours aren't that good after our halcyon days gone past. I watched some of the qualifying and it is quite depressing to see ours go out at either the first or second hurdle. Two finals tonight. 800m and 1500m and neither of them with a Brit in the race. After the first night where we cracked 3 golds I think the peak was reached. If it was left to the Athletics alone we would be a long way down the medal table. It's part of the reason I have lost a lot of interest in the thing.

Ten minutes left in the Olympic Football Final.....only game I've watched.....glad I havn't bothered to watch anything else....Brazil just keep giving the ball to Mexico.....no wonder they are losing 2-0.........Fletcher might be able to coach their defence....or maybe not.

    Mexico win.

Far, far more important than this is Tom Daley's diving final tonight. Watched the semi's this morning and Tom is peaking at the right time. I do feel though that if he does get a medal it will be a bronze. The Chinese the Mexicans and a German guy look hot to be up there in the medal places.

Those tiny swimming trunks these divers wear don't leave much to the imagination do they?

Mrs laLa.....I havn't noticed......they never come off either do they.

Yes I watched as well.......I wouldn't normally watch such an event......it's hard to compare dives except for the splash.

Interesting to watch the response of the diving medalists.

The Gold winning American looked as if he was finding it hard to believe.

The Chinese looked as if he was distraught that he hadn't won......and it meant that he would be disgraced and sent to the paddy fields to work for the rest of his life (there was another hundred on the conveyor belt to take his place).

Tom was over the moon and you can see that he probably promised his dad that he would win a medal of any colour for him.

The other Chinese diver would probably be turned into bonemeal to feed the paddy fields........best bet for him is to run away and seek political asylum and get a job in chinatown cooking noodles.

Yes for awhile........but Fletchers coaching would eventually blunt his ability, because divers like Tom don't wear socks to "work off" and he would fall out of favour.

Watched the footie out here and it was great, shame GB couldnt put out a better side but with the politics and Euros think Pearce did OK tbh. Still amazing result overall for GB and so pleased for Daley to get a medal he was brilliant today.
