Don't know if this has been posted, but the games to be played at SJP during the Olympics have been released, obviously not the teams, but the dates and what kind of game it is. This taken from NUFC.COM.

Confirmation of the 2012 Olympic football fixtures to be hosted at SJP has now been forthcoming - although it's yet to be confirmed which teams will participate.

Nine games will take place on six separate dates, with six in the men's event and three in the women's.

Ticket prices are £20, £30 and £40 for the Preliminaries (with one ticket granting admission to both games on one day) and £20, £40 and £50 for the Quarter Finals.

    Thu 26.07.2012 2.30pm 2 x men's Preliminaries (FB006)
    Sun 29.07.2012 5pm 2 x men's Preliminaries (FB014)
    Tue 31.07.2012 2.30pm 2 x women's Preliminaries (FB016)
    Wed 01.08.2012 2.30pm 1 x men's Preliminaries (FB022)
    Fri 03.08.2012 2.30pm 1 x women's Quarter Finals (FB028)
    Sat 04.08.2012 5pm 1 x men's Quarter Finals (FB034)

Tickets go on sale on March 15th 2011.

    -----------------------

Seems a bit daft that they are selling tickets well over a year in advance but hey ho, I think I will try to purchase one or two, hopefully the quarter final men's game.

Anyone else planning on going? Its quite big for the club that the Olympics will be at SJP, however the football is one thing that is pretty much least important in the Olympics, its all about the table tennis.

Argentina very unlikely to qualify! Gutted, one of the top young teams in the World.

I think so? There was a lot of debate about it a while back but never heard if we were or not... should do considering it's in England!

Im sure I heard the other nations wanted nothing to do with it but gave England the go ahead to compete under the name of Great Britain. I hope so, with home advantage I think we could grab gold.

Yeah, just checked and there will be a team, couldn't find anything on whether it was just England though, any Newcastle players you think would play?

I'm not sure, but with the Euros just before the Olympics, I can't imagine the teams being the same as then. And with the season just around the corner after the olympics, it is a wonder of who we would actually put out.

You never know, Ranger might make it, unlikely, Barton, Nolan, Harper, Simpson? All quite possible given the reason above.

'In Men’s Olympic Football, each 18-member squad must include at least 15 athletes less than 23 years of age. There is no age limit for the remaining three.'

Severely limits the amount of players we could have! Especially with the Euros before, can't see that much of a strong team playing.

    Ranger and Simpson then.

Christ, I don't envy who is going to pick that team, I am positive Capello won't be the manager of the GB team?

Some young players in Reserves talk much for this. Bradden Phil Shane Nile Dan and Fraser all happy for this.
