As promised, well, better late than never, here are some photos of me running with the Olympic Torch! It was an amazing day, words do not do it justice! A truly extrodinary experience which I will never forget! Over the past few days the torch has been everywhere with me! I have visited three schools, and to see the kids faces when they see the torch is brilliant. Thats what it is all about! You clearly dont understand how the torch relay works do you? I didnt nominate myself, I never asked to be a torchbearer. I was nominated for the voluntary work I do! A little bit of jealousy i think? I have posted these pics as some on here asked me to do so, as they are interested. If you arnt then quite simply dont bloody read it. People like you make my blood boil.
Thanks mate. I was nominated for the voluntary coaching work I do at my local judo club every week coaching kids from 5-19 years old.
WTF you on about he was nominated for his work with children by their parents in his local community so yep a wonderful person. Well done Judo, where did you get to cary the torch as our local people were in different towns..
I carried it through East Grinstead - which is 2 miles from my hometown. But my judo club is based in EG so I had loads of supporters cheering me on, which made it even more special.
'The greatest sporting achievement by a Not606er' - well done Judo, you'll have to get yourself a shirt with No.36 on the back...
He put the photos up because we asked him to Dan....We are interested and we support our own, especially when our own are really neat guys like Judo. Please go onto your own board and take the p*** out of your own Torchbearers....I expect you have loads on your own board don't you??? Well done Judo...was watching you .....everyminute. Proud of you, well desrved and thanks for sharing the pictures and your special moment with us
That's great in Hastings we had people from all over the world let alone country which was a bit weird as our locally chosen ran in Kent areas.
I did see alot of that - some people had to travel miles to run with the torch. I came down to Hastings for the evening celebration, it was great to watch the last torchbearer light the cauldron! Thanks Beth! Glad you were able to watch!
You Tosser. Do you not understand that most Torch Bearers have been selected for doing good things for others, in many cases for people less fortunate than us. F**k off back to Twatford.
I missed that as was on a night shift at the local hospital.... gutted as I had tickets for the event as well.
Well tbh, apart from the cauldron bit the rest wasnt brilliant. They had two people called Twist and Pulse trying to get the crowd going (dont know exactly what you would say they do!) and it was pretty cringeworthy at times Rizzle Kicks were on stage after and did well to get the crowd going.
Twist and Pulse were on a reality talent show on tv me thinks... and that sounds about right for the town great ideas but fail to put into action
You're a good man, Juds. Thanks for sharing these; and ignore the naysayers. One of my staff members at work has a connection to one of the other 7,999 torch bearers and I'm hoping that she can acquire the torch for the day of our Summer BBQ bash next month. I'm trying to tie this in with a charity fundraiser, as I know my two eldest kids would love a photo with the torch and I reckon it's worth making a donation for the privilege.
