Oliver

Oliver is in charge of today's Manchester derby. A game rife with over penalizing some situations and under penalizing others. The foul of Felaini on Aguero in the box a clear missed call. Oliver looks like he's not in tune with what's going on or has no confidence. Thoughts?

 

Yankee mentioned it on another thread. He has failed to give to clear penalties, when he gives Moses dive. He books a Utd player and fails to for a very similar fould by a city player. He is consistent in his inconsistency. ****ing terrible. Did get the red right though.

 

Was a definite penalty by Fellini on Aguro , but even a more obvious one before half time should have given City a spot kick .

 

Was just saying the same thing, Yankee. Just missed another one on Toure which looked a pen too though not sure. Obviously the ref wasn't either. The Aguero one was definite though. The cheek of Fellaini to shout at Aguero on the ground when he must know he clipped him.

Misses a fair bit does our Michael doesn't he? Not the strongest ref to be given this game.

 

Mate the foul in the last minute looked a certain pen to me. The reason for not giving it would have been another red card. Mind you will watch it back at half time and may be eating my words.

 

He's bottled it. Man City should have had two penalties and Rojo should be off too. At least Smalling made his sending off easy for the ref

 

On Smalling's first yellow, I see no reason why such a move - shifting to block a kick from the keeper while maintaining some distance - should be considered a "foul" and worthy of a yellow card. I've never been one to over protect keepers - and I think that this smacks of that. If the rules require a card for this, then I think the rule is overly protective and over penalizes a situation. As a result of this cheap yellow, the first real foul by Smalling (which deserves a yellow) leads to a double yellow and red. Ridiculous IMO

 

Dragon just watched the second one back. Definite pen. Cutting Oliver slack on tv due to positioning and incident being partially obscured what are th f**ing Linesmen doing then. .

 

My first reaction was that Toure had no reason to go down as he was in on goal so it must be a pen but then the commentator on my (non Sky) feed said there was no contact. The quality of the feed is **** as well.

I was hedging my bets.

 

It was an attempt to slow the game down which is no different to Shelvey kicking the ball away. Both quite cynical and both are yellows.

 

We also see ref's get horrific abuse from players and not dish out cards whilst they will automatically give one when a player takes his shirt off. It's mad.

 

Agree with lefty , Fellini looked pretty stupid having a go at Aguero after he obviously got away with one .Well at least it not just us receiving sh~it calls
