Old Threads

I've been having a tidy up of the board and just deleted nearly 500 threads that haven't been posted in for at least a month (some longer). I've left 10 pages (subject to your individual settings) which is approx 200 but it got me thinking.

How many pages back do you/would you go to read/catch up on threads?

I know a recent tourist went back approx 5 just to post some inane drivel. I know if someone is away for a while (holiday/work etc) the threads can mount up but personally, I'd go 2 maybe 3 at most but I was just wondering what you guys do.

Will help me keep things a bit tidy like, innit.

I have gone back 3 pages when I have an update to a previous post rather than start a new one but 6 pages just to post some inane drivel.

5 seems about right, because of work commitments etc. and don't forget when the season starts we can get two or three pages a game

After reading DJ's post and getting some sound advice, instead of deleting I'm just going to close the old ones initially for the purpose of updating or historical referencing etc. I didn't consider this when the thought first occurred to me which just reinforces my opinion that I really shouldn't try this thinking malarky unsupervised

guys, thanks for all your comments and especially criticism. This mod malarkey is a learning curve for me which is why I opened this up for comments/suggestions etc and they've all been taken on board
In hindsight, I should have started this thread before deleting any so apologies for that

Anyway. on reflection, it was a stupid thing to do so I've undeleted all the threads this morning. Maybe someone here knows this software better than me and can advise but I've mailed the board admin with regards the points/rep/ranking situation.

H I generally stay on page one, but it would be good to be able to search through older threads if the situation required it. Such as jager stating he only comments on threads where the swans have been mentioned and then does the opposite.

H bomb, we had vote recently whether to clean up and improve the nest or to let it be, The leave it be camp won !
It is a good idea to ask your guys and girls what they think , before engaging on any radical action
Also it maybe an idea to get another mod on your board that you can discuss things like that with!
Preferably one who tends to be on site when your not! There are 3 of us on our board , and we manage to share the workload
