Can anyone recall any old QPR songs that are no longer sung from yester year? I can't remember the last time I heard ' Ohhh Captain Jack, Meet me by the railway track? ' Another one I remember is the ' Harry Roberts ' song, although not the most tasteful lyrically. We used to have quite a good library of songs that got rolled out one after another in the 70's and 80's and even into the 90's.
"Stanlee, Stanlee born is the King Of Loftus Road" (to the tune of The First Noel) is the earliest one I remember.
Captain jack is still doing the rounds I think nines, maybe because it's a song responding to one man's call, less people sing it and therefore it's harder to hear from further away. Gimme an RrR...RrR, AaA..AaA,NnN...NnN... Haven't heard that in a while. Speaking of songs - we sing," and it queens park rangers, queens park rangers fc, we're the FINEST football team..." everyone else sings "we're by far the greatest team". true?
A single word, but it gives the song less arrogance and conveys us as more discerning fans. I love the fact that we have our own slant on this.
