are you lads able to buy tickets yet and any ideas how many we have? apologies if this has been posted b4.
How many we have? Assuming the we, being Norwich? Away will be given 2000 tickets. Home tickets are on sale and selling very very slowly!
You going Crowey? I'd imagine tickets for you lot will be like gold dust, are you a season ticket holder at the Carrot Patch?
Seriously??? I am gobsmacked to read that! Any idea as to why that should be, given the importance of the game? I dare say most tickets will be sold by kick off on the day, but I really would have thought the majority would have gone within days of release.
Thai, our tickets have been on sale since the 14th of this month to priority members and went on general sale on the 21st, I got mine on the 15th and there were very few tickets left in the SBRL on that day, at least in pairs. I had a look on the stadium seat map earlier and there's still tickets left, very few in the SBRL, a few more in the SBR upper towards the back and around the ground...I'd imagine that most of us bought our tickets at the earliest opportunity so there was an initial rush that may have died off a bit now if Westy's analysis is correct (still time for Westy to grab himself a ticket then! ) A 12:15 KO, what time will that be for you in Thailand? (I assume that you'll be watching on some dodgy link! )
That'll be 6.15pm for me, ideal time to start drinking. Yup, a dodgy stream it will be, but from what I recall, Championship game streams are not normally a problem as they don't attract the same levels of traffic
It will be 04:15am for me, and I'll be watching it on a dodgy link. It's the only league game that I'd get up that early for (except a play off semi or final of course)
if i get pulled oot of the pot.Pisses me right off as i remember going and paying at the gate. 28 years a season ticket holder now mate.
Respect for that, Crowey, I genuinely hope that you get your ticket(s) sorted, should be a cracking match and atmosphere!
Are we surprised to have only sold 21,000 tickets so far? (I am assuming that includes away tickets) http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/25511/tickets-selling-well-for-east-anglian-derby I have mine, even bought one for the missus.. after a fashion as this online registration system they are running is probably putting people off. Talk about putting barriers in the way. I generally make a dozen games a season, generally split more away than home and have never bought a ticket online in advance (always buy on the gate) and so couldn't buy one with this system. Luckily a mate of mine did the honours and I now owe him £74 for 2 tickets After my lengthy chat to the nice gentleman at the ticket office who couldn't do anything for me I nearly decided to say sod it and watch it on Sky.. but it didn't take too much to persuade myself otherwise. Though I would imagine that many others in my situation would have taken the decision to watch on sky, have a few beers during the game and pocket a few quid in the process.
I think the 21,000 doesn't include the budgies, so thats 23,500 plus we have to reduce the capacity by a 1,000 for safety concerns because they are a bunch of trouble makers. so roughly 4,500 left.
Buying tickets online makes it really easy, it takes about a couple of minutes to set up an account, much as setting up an account on this website does, it took me about 5 minutes maximum to go online on the day, select two seats in the SBRL of my choosing, and then print them off, £64 the pair. Tickets were never going to be sold on the gate for this one, and I'm pretty sure that the restrictions on ticket sales (having to be bought in Planet Blue, an IP postcode, or to those who had bought tickets for other matches in the past online) were in place for the last home derby 3 years ago. Set up an account, KOPR, makes ticket buying simple...
I set up an account, even bought one of the retro Pioneer football shirts as it said that a purchase had to be made prior to buying Norwich tickets. But when I selected my seats and went to purchase, it said I hadn't fulfilled all criteria. I.e. not made ticket purchase on the online system over the past 10 years.. I am sure that I am not alone in this as I have always bought on the gate in my adult life. I understand the regulations that were put in place but I haven't needed to buy online prior to a match before and I can only see this as being a barrier to the 'casual fan' as pre booking tickets is a pretty rare occurrence anyway. Also, the bloody retro football shirt that I bought, it's like a bloody tent, you could fit two of me in it
Maybe it's just me, but I'd never do the 110 mile drive from Northampton to Ipswich without having my match tickets on me. At least now all you need to do is buy a ticket for one match online and you'll be ok to buy tickets for the derby for the next ten years. Where will you be, the Upper SBR?
When I first looked there were a few decent seats in SBR lower and that was when I bought the retro shirt as it looked like that was what I needed.. Then when that didn't work there were some good ones left in SBR upper but after speaking to the ticket office and then getting a mate to do it they all went so have a couple of seats up in the gods of SBR upper area 3. Should be a good atmosphere though and hopefully get the other half singing along as well. (only game she has been too was away at Derby last year)
