Morning Naaaaaaaaaarwich fans. Less than two weeks until the big one, what are your thoughts of the game? For what it's worth I'm quite scared as you're in a rich vein of form, however Mick has stopped our rot with two wins and it promises to be a massive game!
Personally I think it will be a travesty for football if 'Wimbledon 2015' win the game but I wouldn't bet against it
We are probably better away from home currently. I am expecting us to compete (unlike the last match) and therefore it will be a tight affair. I'd love us to play like we were over the Christmas period and dispell this myth that we only play 'hoofball' Yes, we play direct at times but it's very easy to watch 30 seconds of highlight clips and assume one thing... like many football fans assuming you hadn't got a defence earlier in the season
To be fair I've probably seen you half a dozen times now and you've played that way for the full 90 minutes on each and every occasion. Happy to admit that you probably have a little more to your bow than simply lumping it but there's a reason why fans of all clubs, when asked, say Ipswich play hoofball. Its because you do. And we didn't have a defence! We still don't sometimes.
Fancy us to take the spoils and continue our very good run against your lot. I have a sneaky feeling that it may be a bit more decisive this time than the first game at Portaloo and could be something like 3-0. That is not a reflection on Ipswich in isolation, I just think that we are running into the form that we have threatened for much of the season and are now being managed by someone who can get the most out of the talent available. McCarthy has certainly achieved that with you thus far but you have over-achieved to date and that must come to an end.
Norwich need the win more than us, so I expect us to contain and then hit them in the 90th minute with a fine flowing 35 pass move.
.......and then presumably you woke up and realised it was all a dream. "Fine flowing 35 pass move" is really pushing reality beyond the limits of possibility for you.
If we win the two games prior to the 'BIG ONE', we will be on one hell of a roll, and should be more than capable of winning. If only football was played on paper.
Thank god it's not on paper you would batter us! However, we've improved somewhat since early on. We mix it up at times, however certainly hit areas and are quite direct in terms of play. Not that it bothers me at all, we played great footy under Jewell for 80 minutes a game often and lost. I think if either side win it'll be by a one goal margin. I don't forecast a home battering or us doing the same to you either. Really excited!
It will be tight I think. Ipswich will try to contain us and hit us with some hoofs up field. I can see it ending in a draw.
It does make me smile about the whole hoofball viewpoint fans have of us. Sure we are direct, but we put the ball into areas specifically as opposed to aimless hoofs. We can spray the ball and get passing moves going too. Second half at Pride Park we taught Derby a footballing lesson, passed them to absolute death earlier in the season. Granted that hasn't happened too often but we're quite effective in how we do play. Fulham outfootballed us for large spells Saturday but their passing footy created quite literally zero shots! We're possibly the best side out of possession in terms of closing down sheer workrate. I haven't watched Norwich for quite a while on the box, so I'm assuming with the comments of hoofball you play open attractive expansive football? You certainly from what I can see have the players to play in such a way. It's going to be really interesting anyway. I'm sure I read in the last eleven derby games I think you have gone 1-0 ahead. That's a ridiculous sequence!
" If only football was played on paper. " Well top scorer Murphy would be good on paper, McGoldrick, Bishop + Bru, Mings certainly better on paper than in reality ( not a fan ) and Berra is as good as anything in this division! Perhaps we're not that bad on paper.......!
I think both teams are on form, so it should be a good game no matter what. At home I say we should win it, but I wouldn't be totally surprised if Ipswich take something from the game.
I think having Bassong back might be quite important, if he can keep the ageing Murphy quiet then I think we will win comfortably. 2-0 home win.
Not too sure what Murphy's age has to do with an awful lot now at 31 it's been his best season in club footy by a long stretch. Like Holt he's got better with age. Dorrans is a class signing for you guys. Awesome at this level. Atmosphere should be a cracker. I wish we had the away fans by the noisy home fans as you do at Portman Road, really adds to the atmosphere.
Hi Westlake bor, Town are a bit low on our radar at the moment, concentrating on Watford and Blackburn away. Should be a good competitive game among equals, being at home should just about tip the tables in our favour, but nothing is certain in this year's Championship !!! Hopefully we have a cleanly contested game with no hassle from either fans.
Sorry, but the away fans are next to the Barclay which is home to some of the noisiest Canaries fans!!!!
