Why the heck has RH handed the captains armband to Rooney, he will probably get himself sent off before half time because is a nasty petulant mardy ar**ed P***K! Surely we can do better than him.
He was captain against Brazil a few years ago - is no big deal as no one give a crap about the England team any more.
Has the England team ever captured so little of the imagination? I think not, totally dull'd out by friendlies & equally droll qualifiers. But alas we will win, & fifa shall propel us up the rankings once again. Roll on proper footy.

Surely Joe Hart should get the armband. Has he had it yet, even in a friendly, does anyone know? I used to get so excited for England games, have fond memories of watching Euro 96 and France 98 with my dad, going mental when Owen scored that wonder goal against Argentina. But it is just so dull now, uninspiring is the right word to use I think.

I don't know why it matters to England so much. In other countries it's never as big a deal, the players just get on with it
