I agree, I'm no fan of Hamilton but it does seem like this thread is trying to make something of a non-story.

It's quite sad really. He is one of 24 drivers out there who is driving a car at 200mph because it is what he loves and because it entertains the fans.
That is a tough tough job and like he said EVERY sports star will go through a bad patch even the biggest football clubs will but he will recover. Let these idiots slate him for every bad thing he does it's actually a compliment to Lewis. It shows they fear him as a big competitor to their favourite drivers.
must admit everybody on here seems alot more sensible than some of rum dums on the old bbc forum so we will probally be spared that for the time being --
I ain't criticizing Lewis I'm criticizing the how tough its been for him attitude thats going around as the last two weeks have shown there are far worse things in life than getting a bit of stick from the press, having a bad season and your girlfriend dumping you.
So if these things are so bad that it makes Anthony's statement look out of context with what has gone on in the world, why is it worth commenting on them?
Why aren't you looking at the big picture too?
That you are using other people's deaths to highlight a statement made in someone elses favour hardly allows you to rise above anybody else.
Can no one come out in support of someone who has gone through a bad patch in their lives because in the context of recent events it may seem more insignificant?
Some people read too much into statements in order to have a crack at others.

I see that he's trying to defend his son, but some of the things he says is nonsense. There wont be a new Hamilton in 2012 - for years Lewis has tried (and failed) to emulate Senna, making the same silly mistakes and vowing to never change his style. What has changed that will ensure we see a "new" Lewis Hamilton?
All i see is another thread slating lewis(again) and his dad. To many people have pure hatred towards these two it makes me ****ing sick .If this was buttons dad saying how his son will be 'new and improved driver' for 2012 there would be hardly any negativity and people would be saying his dads talking sence. Don't suggest that he may have been unfairly treated at any point in his career. Many will suggest that he needs to be dealt with more severely... possibly even burned at the steak... and as punishment for your blasphemy, you'll shall be stoned!
Hamilton threads. They're painful, involve a lot of moaning and seem impossible to get rid of. Much like immortal zombies.
