I know the saying 'there is no such thing as bad publicity" but surely this actually is??? The 5 Most Dangerous Fanbases in English Football During the 2013-2014 Season.... 5th - Nottingham Forest - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...h-football-during-the-2013-2014-season/page/2 4th - Port Vale - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...h-football-during-the-2013-2014-season/page/3 3rd - Sunderland - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...h-football-during-the-2013-2014-season/page/4 2nd - Man Utd - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...h-football-during-the-2013-2014-season/page/5 1st - Bristol Rovers Finally, the No. 1 spot for Englandâs most dangerous fanbase goes to Bristol Rovers F.C and anyone who was at the Memorial Stadium on May 3, 2013 will know why. Relegated from the Football League for the first time in 94 years fans invaded the pitch bringing "shame on the city" with their violent protests, according to the Bristol Post. But again it was the nature of their arrests that warrants Bristol Rovers topping the list. Firstly, of the 57 arrests in total throughout the season, amazingly 35 percent of these were for âviolent disorder.â Secondlyâand more specificallyâin a detailed report by the Mirror, District Judge Lynne Matthews described the violent scenes of May 3, noting, âThere were hundreds on the pitch and only around 20 officers." Again this is frightening when you consider 20 officers were tasked with taming angry fans who have an average matchday attendance of 6,420. That means for every police officer there were potentially 321 disgruntled fans to control. Continuing, Judge Mathews cites a case where a horse was punched and an officer is now suffering from fractured teeth and post-traumatic stress disorder after âhe felt he was going to be lynched by the crowd.â Now it must be acknowledged older and more âestablishedâ firms such as the Inter City Firm of West Ham United or the Chelsea Headhunters are arguably more feared. But measuring âfearâ compared to âdangerâ is very hard. Strictly based on the objective statistics published by the Football Banning Order Authority during the 2013-2014 seasonâand the events documented in the mediaâBristol Rovers' fanbase was the most dangerous in England during last season and Memorial Stadium should perhaps come with a public-danger warning. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...h-football-during-the-2013-2014-season/page/6 Excuse my language here but what a load of ****ing bollocks.
Seen this on facebook a few days back I'm surprised the red hillbilly crew didn't pick up on it sooner. It's just laughable though! the police only arrested a handful of passionate fans who got caught up in the moment with emotions running high. When I was looking through the evil post I recognised most of the faces that got charged, I couldn't stop laughing how the judge branded them as hooligans! I've seen some of those lads week in week out on the terracing and they were just harmless fans I even went to school with one of them and he was a complete fanny! couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. To brand us as the most dangerous club or fan base is a joke why don't these lazy bastards spend a few month hanging around some of the scummier clubs such as Millwall and c*ty, they go to extremes of killing each other on occasions.
Danny, they based these stats on how manay got arrested and charged etc. Apparently there was hundreds on the pitch after the Mansfield game. I think that is a bit of an exaggeration. How many reds got on the pitch at the gate vs Rovers in the JPT. I think I know who had more on the pitch out of both Bristol sides. And what the reds did on the pitch towards the away end was worse in my eyes. Bottles, coins & a corner flag all thrown in towards Rovers fans where you had women and children. Compare that to a horse getting punched. But because none on the pitch at the Gate got arrested but instead just allowed to stay on the pitch and leave when then want, their stats on the trouble that night wasnt anywhere as bad as it should have been. Investigations after on CCTV managed to get a few arrested and charged but that was just a few. Also I cant believe they are using our average home attendance in a stat to show how many angry fans to each individual police office, so saying all in attendance are dangerous! Total crap.
n officer is now suffering from fractured teeth and post-traumatic stress disorder after “he felt he was going to be lynched by the crowd.” Usual Copper no doubt trying to grab his pension early ! Post traumatic stress disorder my arrrrrse !!!!!!!!!!! Stick to crowd control at the Nursery.
No idea how he fractured his teeth?! They wear bike helmets and face mask? Mind you if some one can lay out a horse I couldn't put it past him to punch through a helmet
Guys - you may find this interesting but the vast majority of people on our board (when not wumming with you) agree that it's just a few idiots who are getting publicity that tarnishes everyone (and that we have them too)
To be fair when the jokes are put to one side the majority of posters on this forum (both sides) are decent supporters it's a shame a few idiots can give every supporter a bad name, which doesn't help when words are flying in heated debates.
Load of rubbish... we've got one of the best fan bases around. The fact there are so many of us means you're bound to attract a few idiots
