Oh how wrong you can be!

Here was my initial thoughts ahead of the Birmingham game, a prediction to boot:

Really disappointed with the way we went about business in the first half and to get the response we did from our captain after we fell behind was terrible.

The Derby game brought so much hope and for it to come crashing back down after a woeful away day is really annoying. You need consistency in this division and when Sven thinks he’s getting it a performance like Sunday shows up!

Can’t fault the manager at all. He had two massive decisions to make regarding Ritchie Wellens and Jermain Beckford and for me he got them spot on. That performance against Derby before the international break was magnificent, you couldn’t fault anyone. Eriksson had to stick with that 11 and I was so glad to see he did. Consistency see.

For him to show that faith in them again and give them a chance to really cement a place in this team, then witness a lacklustre first 45 minutes as he did must have been demoralising.

We didn’t get going at all really and once Birmingham hit the bar after the break alarm bells were ringing. A cheap penalty later and City were bang in trouble. A time to pick chins up, kick team mates up the backside and take charge had arisen. Who better to do that than your captain?

Well Matt Mills didn’t do any of that, instead he took his frustration out on the opposition like a teenage amateur, lunging in two footed to get his marching orders.

Just when he and many others were starting to gel and impress we get lumped back a few weeks and yet again a must win mentality will be echoing around the King Power Stadium this week when Watford and Millwall visit respectively.

schoolboy errors cost us, I just hope the players know that and don't do it again. Agree with pretty much all of the above, the players owe Sven a response

my changes would be (like I know anything about it of course):

St Ledger> Mills. SSL has point to prove, hungry for games
Wellens> Danns. Richie is one of best players outside Prem and looked like the only player who would create anything when he came on.
Beckford> Vassell. Nothing against Darius, he's still got it, but I wouldn't drop Nuge and Beckford needs a chance

I think your spot on there although I'd be reluctant to drop Danns myself. I know he wasn't at the races Sunday, (who was), but his pace frightens the life out of defenders and he's the only bloke who offers natural width.

Agreed with who your bringing in though on all fronts, particularly Wellens. He's top class.

Yeah I thimk Danns would be a reluctant one, maybe give Fernandes a rest as he has gone missing at times too. Danns is always useful from the bench as he can play in a number of positions and can change a game with his pace as the game gets tired
