He's got to write something for that column, hasn't he?
I'm sure Pearce isn't too happy about it.

I think you've got the story slightly mixed up, but I also saw this in the Express this morning.
In regards to the 60m, it was for Harry to spend if he stays, according to the article.

    http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/311450/Tottenham-target-Brendan-Rodgers

BRENDAN RODGERS has jumped to the front of the queue of managers to whom Tottenham will turn if Harry Redknapp becomes the next England boss.

Spurs are willing to hand Redknapp a new contract and give him £60million to spend in the transfer market to stay at White Hart Lane.

But there is a growing feeling Redknapp, right, will accept the task of taking over as permanent England manager, with the FA hoping to complete an appointment in time for the new boss to take the team to Euro 2012.

Rodgers has the chance to cement his position as a potential Tottenham manager in waiting by guiding Swansea to victory at White Hart Lane on Sunday, having already won admirers within the north London club.

Chairman Daniel Levy is still concentrating his efforts on trying to keep Redknapp, but Rodgers has been discussed as somebody Spurs will keep a close eye on for the remainder of the season.

Jose Mourinho would be the dream choice to replace Redknapp for many Tottenham fans, but Levy would balk at trying to meet the £11million-a-year salary he is paid at Real Madrid.

There is also a fear Mourinho would use Spurs as a stepping-stone to try to get the Manchester United job once Sir Alex Ferguson retires. If and when Tottenham replace Redknapp, they want to make a long-term appointment.

Links to Everton’s David Moyes have faded, while Jurgen Klinsmann enjoys his life in the United States. So it is now Rodgers whose star is rising at Spurs, having guided Swansea to 10th place by playing some of the most attractive football in the Premier League.

Quote from Brendan Rogers too: "What the future holds, you just never know" (When asked if he planned to leave Swansea after declining interest in the Chelsea job)

Brendan Rodgers: One season in the prem and we take him as manager? Surely it's not just me who thinks that is about as likely as a career in basketball for Lennon?

I thought Venables was supposed to be on our side being an ex Spurs man. Has he thought about who will replace Harry for us? I've heard about Rodgers and cannot agree. I just wish Harry would end the speculation.

If we were going to take a Premier League manager with one season's worth of experience, I'd take Paul Lambert over Rodgers. Nothing against Rodgers, as he's done a great job, but Lambert looks like the next Moyes.

Reports are suggesting that the Atlanta Hawks are pursuing an interest in Aaron Lennon currently playing soccer for the UK team Tottenham Hotspur in the EPL. Observers are surprised at the interest as at present he does not play basket ball and is of small stature.

A spokesman for Atlanta Hawks refused to confirm the interest but did say that they were considering new options for smaller fleet of foot players to play a new kind of position in the game. This is thought to be known as ball flyers. These players will be used as providers to their taller teammates, their small stature will enable them to move quickly through a group of players.

Harry is obviously interested. Otherwise, he would come out and say so. He's never been shy about putting his opinions forward.

Oh he's interested sure enough but it's characters like Venables that just might sway Harry to take the job leaving us where? Venables is just adding to the insecurity. I'm convinced that our blip was due to the uncertainty about Harry's future. I've read that Modric won't sign a new contract until he learns about Harry's future which is a change from the close season when they were at loggerheads. You never know what to believe.
