I don't think it will be Adkins, all the others have a record of W2 D2 L0 for the month, Adkins has a record of W2 D1 L1 and they usually just go on results.
Results announced tomorrow, think he has a better chance than the moaning Cardiff guy who is also up for it, Adkins and Mowbray also nominated I think- well done to big Nige for sticking to his guns and turning things around UTT
These manager of the month (or year) awards are stupid. They are done, as OLM says, purely on results. Which is basically team of the month (or year). If you want to judge the manager you should take into account the resources available. I.e. if P'Boro win 2 and draw 2, but Leicester do the same then the P'Boro guy has achieved the same with a smaller budget and worse team so he has clearly been a better manager. Why don't they take this into account? By this method, I guess the winner of this award should be McKay, as Cardiff lost a lot of players in the summer and were expected to be a lot worse off for it, they've also had half their squad out injured.
The awards should also take into account who the teams have played. Using ISTPLT's example, if Leicester had played teams at the bottom of the league and Posh played teams at the top then Ferguson would have done a better job.
ITS 1ST NOVEMBER AND MANAGER OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER TIME AGAIN. NP + HULL....played 4 games WON 3 drew 1 = 10 points out of 12. Maybe our Nigel will get it this time ? or maybe Mr Possitive Nigel Adkins will pip him to it ? Fingers crossed eh ? Lol
