"The truth about life in Wigan is there is nothing to do. It is a crappy place," he told French football magazine So Foot. "The town is tiny and there is no atmosphere. I go into training, I return home, and that is all I do. "When it snowed I felt like it was minus 15, and feared I was going to turn into an ice cube." Diame also criticised the local girls, saying that they only looked good when they were out at night. " It is a myth to claim that all English women are ugly. But I won't lie, it is rare to see truly beautiful girls when you go out during the day," he said. "But it's a different story when you go out in the evening. The girls seem to cover themselves up all day, only to be in good-looking mode at night. "In Madrid (where Diame's former club Rayo Vallecano are based) I had the impression that all the women were beautiful." Despite his grumbles, the 23-year-old insists he is happy where he is - at least for now. "I don't plan to go back to France for the time being. The English league is one of the best in the world, and I don't want to move house once again," he said. " I am not in a hurry. This is my second season in the Premier League, I have a year left on my contract, so let's see what happens about next season."
