Celtic 0 Juventus 3 Perhaps you should have forced that move to The Premier League after all Mr Hooper?
on that showing hooper not worth paying £8m, i think we got lucky. celtic might be lucky getting £4m in the summer.
He's playing champions league football - can you offer that ? He's rubbing shoulders with pirlo not holt
I should bloody hope not! Have to confess I've not actually seen him play much at all, but I was never interested in us signing him in the window and on what I saw tonight - admittedly against some world class defenders - nothing has made me change my mind in the slightest.
For heaven's sake, why the gloating over that result? Fact is, the match could have gone very differently from how it panned out in the end. Also, Hooper was instrumental in Celtic getting into the knock-out phase of the competition. I suppose we would have thrashed Juventus? I really don't understand or have any sympathy at all with this kind of small-mindedness. Give credit where it's due I say -- to Celtic for progressing as they have, and their spirit and endeavour on the night (not to mention their two games v Barcelona), and to Juventus for their calmness in defence and clinical finishing when their few chances came.
The point of the thread was not to diss Hooper or Juve, but to highlight how relieved people are (on the strength of last night's showing) that we weren't held to ransom in our pursuit of Hooper. I hope Ewan C/Chris H identify different targets at the end of this season
there is a bit of gloating because Neil Lennon was a bit of an arse in the Hooper non-transfer issue, i'd have thought. it's all fairly light-hearted robbie
That's the perennial get-out used by football fans to justify every type of behaviour from mildly offensive to downright vile. "It's just banter", "It's all light-hearted really". Regarding the Hooper bids, Neil Lennon said consistently that Hooper was going nowhere in January. None of us know what money was actually offered, or what was said between McNally and his Celtic counterpart. All the stuff about being held to ransom is just people who don't have the facts jumping to conclusions and getting artificially steamed up in consequence. As for Hooper's quality, if NCFC saw him as a player who would strengthen our squad right now, that's fine by me; same with Graham, and Becchio.
