If you like, but I would have thought one of the other six anti-name change / anti-Allam threads would be better. God help us if anyone talks about anything other than Club politics on here.
I was only being partly flippant, Craig. This is all part of City's history - and don't you forget it. It doesn't matter if you think it's 'boring'; it doesn't matter if you are for the name change; it doesn't matter if you 'don't mind'. What matters is that Assem Allam is being exposed as a pig-headed, arrogant, egotistical liar.
Irony = the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.
You're somewhat missing the point. Allam came in, spent loads of money, got us to the Premier League and everyone loved him. Now, he's imposing an unpopular and pointless name change and doing it in such a way as to piss off most of the supporters, he really has no-one to blame but himself. He should jack it in, look at genuine ways to increase the revenue and stop making a complete dick of himself on national radio.
I think many people on national radio might agree with his argument. They might think that many of his critics will not or cannot raise funding for the club as Allam can. I think you are jumping to conclusions when you say most of us are against Allam and what he is proposing. These are my honest opinions so please if you disagree respect the fact that other views are possible
So basically we want him to just pump money in whilst a select group from here decide how the club will be run?
Is it possible that Assem Allam is close to relieving Phil Brown of his 'first he was ace, then he was ****' crown?
If what OLM says is correct - that fans are cancelling their season tickets (?) - then the potential poll of season ticket-holders is decreasing.....
That's a completely unreasonable assertion. Nobody is telling him how to run the club, they're just objecting to him changing the 109 year old name of the club. I appreciate that some are against the name change more than others and that some are not bothered at all, but by every poll, forum, conversation, any possible measure you can use, the majority don't think it's a good idea and I'm still yet to find a single person who thinks it actually will result in an increase in revenue. I'm more than happy to have it proven though, that's why CTWD will be openly pushing AA for a fan vote on the name(which he'll ignore, because he knows he'd lose, despite all this 'only 200 loud-mouths nonsense yesterday).
So years of history mean nothing to you? Can we guess younhaven't been going for a particularly long time?
