Just watching MotD and the VAR offside check was prominent.
Got me wondering about rule inconsistencies and how we could give the advantage to the attacker. After all, everyone wants to see more goals.

    The inconsistency?
For a goal, all of the ball has to be over all of the line.
Yet with offside, one hair offside and a free kick is given.
Would it be more consistent and more exciting if the fine margins went with the attacker rather than the defender?
Any part of a player ONSIDE and (s)he is fine.
Would have seen quite a few more goals in the premier league yestetday.

Always used to be the case that the advantage went to the forward.
In our league we’re still at the mercy of indifferent officials which I prefer as it’s a quirk and a talking point.
VAR would have chalked off Chelsea’s goal against us but also Bamba’s late winner v Brighton. I prefer it as it was.

In either case, when it works for you it's great when it goes against you it's not.

VAR was expected to even out all of this but it clearly doesn't with decisions made on the finest of margins which would never have been reacted upon pre-VAR as we still see in the Championship.

In some respects VAR covers up incompetent initial decisions and officials as they can always go to review.

I can't see them dumping it any time soon but improvements like Remote suggested can only improve things.

Now, do we want VAR in the Championship? I say yes.
