An strikeforce of Erding and Ba would be miles better than Ameobi and Lovenkrands

How does Pardew know Ba from before West Ham?

Was he in Germany for a while before getting the Newcastle job?

Then announces he's been watching Erdinc for a long time and has an interest in Ba?

Comolli will be groaning into his y-fronts now :(

Depends on which Erdinç we get, the player of the season and top scorer (19 in 36) for PSG from 09-10 (third top scorer in Ligue 1), or the 10-11 Erdinç who only got 8 goals in 22 league games this season, 9 in 34 overall.

Good news...That basically works out as 5/6 incomings. If the majority are up there in terms of quality I'll be very happy. PLUS Ben Arfa coming back (and practically another new signing) exciting times!

The Zog on the right would be lethal as he cuts in all the time

If we can get him back to form it's a good signing, hopefully another Carr special.

Blaise Matuidi maybe? Don't see why we'd go for another defensive midfielder, but L'Equipe are linking us. Unless we're the Liverpool of French media, in that we're linked to everyone.

According to some Times writer in London we've agreed terms with Ba, but agent fees are holding things up.

Zog always used to play on the left for us. Does he play on the right for Wigan?

He scored some of his lasts goals for Wigan to keep them up from the right e.g against West Ham, and I reckon he could be a Nani type player who can cut in rom either side and score.
Have Jonas and him continouosly swapping during the match to confuse the oppositions marking and we will be as good as Spain!

It depends how much money we're gunna spend on him to be honest...Getting a 24 year old, international striker with UEFA Cup experience for 7m is decent business in my eyes. Especially when you consider that a 22 year old Carroll with 1 cap cost 35m and Connor Whickam is being billed as worth 10m!

Back up, or is he better than that?

We've only got Tiote as an out and out DM if/when we sell Smith!

I would agree, but I don't think we can go much higher to be honest, tried for Gamerio and failed, supposedly tired for Gervinho and failed. As It stands I don't think Erdinc is a truly world class player but he is an improvement on what we have and as long as it's progress I'm happy enough.

Would love a big, big player to arrive but trying to be realistic to avoid disappointment. Progress is progress.

The last very big signing we got was Owen. Do you want another Owen?
