Getting confused with so many threads about the Drury testimonial. So here's an official-ish one. He's tweeted the Norwich squad, which is pretty much the Norwich squad with Nelson, Lansbury, Huckerby and Pacheco. Good to see Wilbraham in despite being released and Naughton in there despite being a loan player. No Ruddy and R Martin, I guess due to international duty coming up. Youngsters Francomb and K Smith in as well. I know people have been raving about Lansbury, Pacheco and Holt playing but I look forward to seeing Nelson. I liked him as a player and Lambert treated him brilliantly in him leaving the club. I was hoping others would play like Dion and a few others but it should be a good night.
From twitter I think Dion and McVeigh will both be there, although I doubt we'll see either of them. No mention of Malky or Fleming, who I thought might get involved.
I shall be there, Barclay tourist, and will be singing for the one and only Adam Drury. It'll be great to give huckerby a proper send off, see that bloke Fraser forster again, and maybe one or two more surprises... Apparently anyone whos turning up to buy a ticket can expect queues of up to an hour, pre-booked mine ages ago, least I could do for Ads. He signed from posh for not-a-lotta-dosh We love ADAM DRURY! Blood Sweat and Tears For Eleven Years WEEE LOVE ADAM DRURY!
I'll be watching it on a stream because I have an exam on Wednesday. I expect to hear "There's only 1 Adam Drury" (or similar) ringing out loud and clear. I don't think I've ever heard his name sung.
Have you posted a link to this thread on the Celtic board wonky ? They should be up for a bit of banter
Haven't actually bought a ticket yet, in the main due to my pathetically organised friends... Looking forward to the hour long queues though!
Probably a stupid question but why is Celtic the opposition? I thought it may have been Peterborough given that we signed Drury from them.
I thought this at the time. Maybe Drury just fancied someone worth playing against (I kid, no PL snobbery there....)! I suppose nobody from his time at Peterborough is still there, and he may never have got the chance to play Celtic, and we've got a few Scottish connections at the club.
Just realised that with Whitbread injured (according to Drury on twitter) and not taking part, the number 6 shirt has been freed up for Hucks to take.
