Saints have just this morning, tweeted the following statement: "For clarification, the following statement was issued to the Southern Daily Echo in relation to the story they are running this morning. It has been the Clubâs conscious policy for the last three years not to reply to questions or calls for statements from the Daily Echo and this will continue to be Club Policy." Anyone know what the Echo are on about? Saints don't normally come out on the defensive likes this? To do with Nigel? Suggested interference? Sale of club? Or just Saints re-stating their stance? Even I dont know , I would guess its laying down the marker as the media is specualting on Adkins future . Cortese's team selection , signings , formation and interference...................
Don't know whether this is a good thing in so much as it seems to be biting back at the echo for putting a spin on it that he's more likely to get the boot cos they haven't responded or worrying that saints are actually working so early in the morning. Never known them to tweet so early apart from when there's something goin on like transfer deadline day. NARA!
It's clearly because "they are remaining tight-lipped". They are simply stating that they are always tight-lipped as far as the echo is concerned. I don't think it's anything to worry about.
Yep that's what I've got. "Echo are gonna say we're tight lipped about Adkins, that's out of context, we're only tight lipped because we never talk to the Echo". Fine by me.
well if you don't know, then no-one will. We best all stop speculating until you release your official statement.

The Southern Echo is one of the great pieces of crap newspapers , it should be kept solely becasue its so crap .

In the interest of balance I had a quick look in the shop, I'm afraid I don't say any advantage for the club in engaging with them at the moment.
Saints are just saying don't infer from our silence that Adkins is in trouble as we never say anything. The Echo has already had an article questioning Adkins position at the club...fair enough as a lot of us are talking about it with present results, but this article is doom-mongering since it is based on no new facts. Come on Nigel, COYR.
Anyone else think it's funny that they have directly responded to an echo piece to reiterate their policy of never responding to the echo? It does seem to invite wider interest...
Agree Fran. Echo just seem determined to stir up trouble and gloom. Why don't they run a let's all get behind Nigel and the team story!
