Not as a big a tournament as the Euros, or even close with some debate as to whether it should exist at all, but with some United players involved, the first Great Britain team since 1960 and a good chance to evaluate some young players there is hopefully enough interest in this to tide us over to the start of the new season. So here is the official thread for the start of the men's tournament tomorrow. So here is the official thread to keep track of our players and any general discussion which will be merged here.

Yeah true, doesn't help when it was against a far superior team aswel. Could have done with a couple of teams at our level.

That was terrible refereeing that may well kock us out of the tournament. I'd wager that the UAE and Uruguay are tougher so thats a big blow. Disapointed.

Good day for the British team and the united players. A good performance to beat the UAE and set up the decider against Uruguay.

For United Giggs and Cleverly put in good shifts to get a goal and an asisst respectively. Not so great news for De Gea because Spain are out <yikes>.

Cleverley was superb tonight and was unlucky not to score, and have to give some credit to Ramsey who has had some stick from some of the Arsenal supporters this year but he also was great tonight.

Anyone watching tonight? Commentators don't seem to impressed but i don't think we have been that Bellamy been the best player so far.

I missed it. Did we play well? Very happy to see both teams progress. We might actually be the second best team left with Uruguay and Spain out. Hopeful of a Bronze.

They held the ball very well, created a few good attacks, Cleverley had a good game, he moved the ball quickly to get it out on the wings where Bellamy caused the most trouble, Taylor playing at right back gave Bellamy some great balls to run on to and Butland was solid in goal. Uruguay were clearly rattled, there was a lot of rash challenges, lots of complaining and even a couple of blatant handballs by Suarez.

This but you have to add Uruguay had a couple of decent chances aswel, if only suarez could finish! I thought Taylors passing ability was superb and Bellamy was man of the match. Impressed by that Butland aswel looks very comfortable in goal.

True they did have a couple of chances, Suarez should of scored one if not for poor finishing, Great Britain should really of put the game to bed before Uruguay made their late push but a lot of good moves were wasted with bad choices or control in the final third, Sturridge was guilty of that a good few times.
