please log in to view this image Saturday 8 November 2014; kickoff at 12.45pm (live on BT Sports 1) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I'd say this is what we should be going with come Saturday: Migs Mankiller - Decision 1 - Toure - Moreno Lucas Hendo - Can Sterling - - - - - Decision 2 Borini Decision 1: Skrtel or Lovren. Both have been poor, both have positives and negatives. 50:50 call IMO. Depending which one we go with depends which side Toure plays; Skrtel is better as a RCB, Lovren LCB. Toure is best at RCB IMO so maybe thats the decision maker? Decision 2: Lallana or Coutinho. Coutinho has been the form player for us of late but always seems to play better coming off the bench. Lallana as the work ethic so if we wanted to keep thing tight for an hour he'd be the choice. I'd go with Lallana in the above formation for this game. However, if we go with Coutinho then I'd switch to the diamond and push Sterling up top leaving Coutinho in the hole. In reality, Brod will play this team... Migs Johnson - Skrtel - Lovren - Moreno Gerrard Hendo - Allen Sterling - - - - - Lallana Balotelli ...and we'll probably lose again If he does this and we don't win, questions should be asked!
Do you really expect us to win, no matter which line-up he choose? I'm not being negative here (you know what I'm like), it's just that this is a game that can go any way, no matter what the circumstances, and the result can't really be offered as a judgement on BR's team selection.
The performance certainly can though. And we know that the team that played vs Madrid will undoubtedly perform better than if Gerrard, Johnson, Balotelli and Lovren come straight back in.
If Rodgers does revert back to his Johnson, Ballotelli mind set more questions about the Real Madrid game will be asked. Lucas played himself into the starting line up as did Toure.
I don't expect us to win but if he reverts back to the "first team" then I question him picking a "reserve team" for the Real game. I clearly put in the OP what team (or something similar) we should be going up against Chelsea with. If this happens and we lose, so be it as long as the effort is there I don't mind. I won't be happy because we won't have won but I'll accept it. My point about asking questions is purely based on team selection. For me, if he reverts to that so-called first team, he HAS to get three points or at the very least, a hard fought passionate performance.
Rodgers cannot do the following: - Bring Johnson in - Bring Gerrard in - Drop Toure If he does those 3 things, we'll be more solid which then means we can nick a goal. For me, Coutinho and Sterling must start ahead of Lallana and Markovic. These are the only two who have any ounce of creativity in the team. You could put Lallana in for Coutinho but that would imply that we are looking to work hard and keep things tight rather than go for a win.
It's coming really looking forward to this match. Check out nbcs trailer for it http://youtu.be/9P86Q68do9k
Let me ****ing rephrase Why has the time got anything to do with the fact that you didn't post #bringbackchris?
Maybe because I was tired and perhaps wasn't thinking entirely straight at the time of posting the OP? I posted it because of what I'd said. I posted a comment on the Chelsea board saying the same thing and thought it would be good to share it on this board only to find there wasn't a match thread up at the time. #lifestories #realproblems #allaboutgreez
