We got a proper pasting from Barca - it could have been 4 or 5. But **** face ref changed the game with the sending off. We were actually defending well at 1-1

Ovebro wasn't half as bad as you say he was, didn't he send of Abidal for a joke of a red card? All you had to do was keep them out for one more minute as well. The ref didn't give them a joke penalty or anything.
Well, he was bad for both sides. Denied Chelsea two clear penalties and sent off Abidal for the slightest of contacts on Anelka. If you watch the replay, Anelka hardly appeals at all as he goes down. Another decision that is probably correct according to the rules, but makes no sense in the context of the game. But then had he shown some common sense and let him off with a caution, Chelsea fans would probably be claiming he was even more biased against them - sometimes the ref just can't win...
Again, he saw a pen and didnt give it, again it was harsh, again vP heard the whistle, again he shouldn't have picked up the first deserved yellow as this leaves you open to a silly one, again Wengers tactics were way off and only spared by Barca's waste of chances and the lack of a good goal and a pen. Lets not start adding to this hate crap, remember frisk? Englsih refs are the worst in the game, look at the WC final, Webb, complete incompetence, Karate kicks allowed it seems. I am sick and tired of this when barca got a goal disallowed, Remember Sunderland? Didn't it make you mad? it happen Barca at the Emirates too, and a stickon pen denied 4 yards away from the ref. The ref had no agenda against Arsenal and he knew VP heard the whistle otherwise he would have run on goal and possible scored instead of that blast at nothing as he knew the whistle had gone, so the ref thinks he is takin the pish. I can understand the anger if it was a close tie, Barca scored all 4 goals remember too, ye weren't even in that tie at the Nou ffs, let it go. Complain about the decision but this whole "this ref is not respected" Look at Blatter, he runs FIFA and noone respects him, politics run the game, look at webb in the final, because he was the best ref? no, the Japanese ref was streets ahead of anyone in Africa, but the disallowed goal got Webb into the final and that it footballing politics at its best

In this case there was no winning he made crucial mistakes for both teams but the deliberate handball by Pique when he knew the ball and player would beat him and the other cast iron penalty refused. But Pique should have been sent off for that deliberate handball as it would have been his second yellow card. FIFA have a penchant for taking obscure referee's from nowhere and give them big games without the relevant experience.
shlefside, congrats last nite, brill game. BUT crouch kept going over the top of defenders and it came up with 7 fouls commited by him, he then went on to do two more. Do you know if he got a yellow at all???? take the piss if he didnt , he's not a dirty player but you can see where im going with this. WTF are you talking about?!? My point was that, in my opinion, Ovrebo made bad decisions that went in both sides' favour. Many referees make bad decisions in games, cos refereeing is a damn difficult job. Even if they don't even out over the course of a season, there is no systematic bias or any of that ****. Anyone who believes that should be wearing their sieve on their head to protect themselves from the cosmic rays and the CIA... My point was also that no matter what Ovrebo had done in that game someone was going to have a go at him, just like Busacca last night. People just blame the ref cos he's often an easy target, and can save them having to take responsibility for a poor team performance.
In regards to the ref, the Madrid press are going nuts at the minute after the game. Calling him everyname under the sun. Even going as far to say Barca's number 1 Fan, Platini made sure the incompitent ref would help Barca through on the night. Pictures of how his demenour changed after Arsenal equalised and the the bookings to Sagna and then RVP. The have also put pictures up of the Pedro pen incident. Ball going one way, Pedro dives into Kos' leg and goes over in the opposite direction. Ref points for goal kick and is surrounded by Barca players and changes it to a pen. Jokes, those Madrid guys have no fear.
