I hate to speak badly of fellow blues, but you're an idiot mate. Mata is going nowhere, especially in January.

Hope you are all right and he gets good chances to turn it around. Wish that he continues not just until the end of season but for many more.

Have to say share is 51% Jose & 49% Juan for this Mata situation.
Can't single out any one tbh.

You don't have to be against Mata to see that we're better with Oscar on the field. The trio of Hazard Oscar Willian is starting to look like the 3 first choice now and so they should the way they are performing. When we eventually get a striker in front of them we really will be the team to beat.

FFP suggests that if we want anyone in then someone of value has to go and right now that is Mata.

Agree, Oscar and Willian have a better understanding developing, even though Mata has raised his game.

Same. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a swap deal with Rooney in the summer.

Mata had a quiet game, it happens, he got subbed, it happens. So did Schurrle, and Willian makes heaps of mistakes giving the ball away far too often as does Ramires. None of them are perfect, all are young and learning. Anyone writing off Mata is loopy, he is a top ,classy player who is not yet playing as Jose wants. My feelings are Jose needs to bend a little as he did with Luiz in midfield, and all will be well.
Still think Mata and Luiz will be at PSG and Barca next year, and that's bad news for us.

I hope not. I think we missed our chance with him I think we should look elsewhere honestly.

I think you've read too many papers and forgotten the games. While I agree Mata may leave, Luiz has been playing a lot. I highly doubt he'll leave.
No player is without faults, but Willian Oscar and Hazard seems to be our way forward for now. I wouldnt say Willian makes heaps of mistakes either.

Inevitable problem given the embarrassment of riches we have in midfield -stark contrast to our forward line. Mata has been a great servant over the past few seasons and I enjoyed watching his performances; that being said given Jose's preferences and the need to balance our books I wouldn't be surprised if he used Mata as a swap for Diegoi in the Summer.......we would be nuts to swap him for Rooney.

Competition for places is a very healthy situation and with the schedule we've got coming up, everyone, including Mata, is going to get more than his fair shasre of games!

Willian was superb v Liverpool and Saints <ok> even if he does misplace the odd pass. He is 25 and has plenty of experience as does Mata at 25, Ramires at 26.

All season you have been saying, at Chelsea "it is wrong on the field" and therefore "it is wrong off the field" too. Surely this applies to Mata now? Surely it is more than just a quiet game. Surely he is not happy and it is "wrong off the field" and "wrong on the field"

I think he will go in the summer too.
We have too many good players vying for those 3 positions and Mata is a World class player, but Jose obviously prefers his other options so it is inevitable that he will go, he isnt a bench warmer.
Plus with the need for more signings in the summer we will need to offload some players to make funds available.
Personally I think in Piazon, Omoreu, Lukaku etc, we have most of what we need in the Youth set up.
I hope the Liverpool game proved to Jose and all other blues fans what I have been saying all along, Luiz should play DM not CB.

Its the one thing Rafa got spot on when managing us is discovering Luiz's true position. In the PL we like CB who primarily defend and can sit deep, Luiz is not one of those players, he could play CB for a team like Barca, but for us especially, he needs a slightly more advanced role if we want to get the best of him. He would easily save us having to buy a DM in the summer. Keep him there and replace him at CB with a new signing.

Then maybe one striker (think Lukaku can manage it personally, or at least do better than Torres and Eto'o) to be signed and voila, we have ourselves a squad capable of challenging.

Mata will go though, if we can get 30-40 million for him from someone like PSG etc, then great.

Obviously we love Mata but if Jose doesn't fancy him we'd be better off getting in some top dollar whilst his stock is high and using that money to strengthen in more pressing areas i.e a forward and either a midfielder or centre back depending on Jose's long term intentions for Luiz.

Think this is a bit of a myth. Rafa played him three times or so there (including a real stinker away at Everton) and then moved him back to CB. WOuld have to check to be certain though

As long as we sell him abroad I wouldn't be fussed. Willian, Hazard and Oscar are much better suited to how we're playing at the moment and let's face it, when given a chance Mata hasn't been the star he was last season. Love the man, proper gent and a phenomenal player but let's be realistic, it's not the end of the world if we let him go abroad.

Want Mata to stay. I'm sure Jose-bashers do too... they'd have nothing to whinge about if they can't see Juan on the bench!!!

Cheers Juan. He must be thinking he is off now especially after how miffed off he looked at getting sub.

My 2nd favourite player after david luiz and a true gent. I even bumped into him once at regents park with his bird and he let me take a photo with him.

We will miss him when he goes!

He is an educated intelligent man.

He studies law instead of going to the races in his spare time.

Maybe Jose does not like someone cleverer than him!
