Still feel that it's an absolutely ****ing diabolical decision. I've never been one to jump on the don't sell McShane bandwagon, but quite simply he was a key figure in our defence which looked good enough for the premier league. He outperformed Chester, who is undeniably a top player, in many of the games towards the end of the season. As I already said in another thread Rosie has played very well at RB,RWB,LB,LWB and could even play as one of a defensive 3 if needed (he's taller than Chezzy I think, and solid in the tackle). For his wage, which will not be huge, we had a large amount of positions covered due to his versatility, and he was our only real defensive RB with experience.
I know, we all know, that nothing stays the same. But still, it breaks your ****ing heart. Unfathomable.
Agreed, John. And - depending on how it all pans out - it could well be seen to have been a tragic folly.
Other than Andy Dawson can anyone think of a modern day legend that's left the club with a fitting send off?
I said something like this a few months ago - it is pretty disgraceful how we've treated some of our legends and those that generally did give a **** about the club. And as I said on another thread I was expecting Macca to get a 2-3 year contract extension with a view to a testimonial circa 2018. The more I think about these two being released, the more pissed off I am - they're just the type of players we need in the Championship.
Why did they make this video? Just to rub salt in open wounds? Christ I felt awful we lost them watching that
I don't comment much. Like to read everything that goes on and leave the commenting for others. But this is really upsetting (and surprising) and wanted to add my support to the thread. Crazy.
Steve Bruce has spent £42m and we are relegated. Alex Bruce was excellent for us all season. Why should AB go just because his dad ****ed up?
