I know it’s not City but there will be a few Glamorgan fans on here, and it’s with sadness to hear of the death of Malcolm Nash. A great servant to the County and a much underrated bowler. He will be forever remembered for being the man who was clubbed for Six Sixes in an over by Sir Garry Sobers at St.Helens. RIP.

Remember him well playing with Eifion Jones standing up to him behind the stumps.

Nice bloke as well from what I can recall. RIP

Saw him play more than once. A Glamorgan stalwart. RIP.

Besides being a life long bluebird, my dad was an avid follower of cricket, and Glamorgan in particular. I used to tag along as a kid.

Just saw this sad news. As an old and currently older Glamorgan member I remember him well from the late 60s and the Championship winning side of 1969. RIP Malcolm

He was on to TV a few weeks ago in the run up to the cricket World Cup. Has always seemed a nice guy and happy to talk about his moment of fame - or put another way, six balls of pain.

    A great Welsh character. RIP.

Tony Cordle and Malcolm Nash, great times ...sad to hear that! I was in Bridgetown once (yes fugging Masky) and the test ground had a big statue of Garfield Sobers...they thought so highly of him! Those six sixes will never be forgotten..made Malcolm Nash famous. One day you lot will erect something in my honour! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Saw a lot of Glamorgan in the 70’s (able to get a pint all day) and in particular often witnessed c Jones b Nash.

Actually saw him play a test trial in Bristol in 1976. Unlucky not to get a test cap. Also one hell of a 6 hitter down the order.

So Sad. RIP. A great bowler who is famous for the wrong reason. That season, he was experimenting with slow left arm bowling.....probably to fit some Wilf Wooller scheme.
The next season, we won the Championship with him rolling over batsmen left right and centre.
I had been at St Helen's that day and was persuaded by my cousin to walk up to the Vetch to see the football. 0-0 borefest against Brentford. I walked back into the ground just after Notts had declared. Didn't have much looks on my cousin after that and it simply added to the negative list for the Swans.
