    Left Back . . . . . . . . . in the dressing room <whistle>

Tried using HBA in that role, he was ****e, anyone know how best to use it? In which formation? Still on my first season & having a shocker, I'm 9th or 10th. Going to get sacked.

Pardew: Right than James. For this upcoming match, I want you to park the bus. OK?
Perch: I'm playing against City gaffer?
Pardew: No. You're driving the team bus.

I would only play a trequartista in a 4-4-2, if you're playing someone in the hole then AM with duty of attack is the best bet I reckon.

    I play a 4-2-3-1 like this...

    GK

    -DR-DC-DC-DL-

    --DMC-DMC--

    AMR-AMC-AML
    ----ST----

With Ben Arfa as a Trequartista and my 2 wingers as Advanced playmakers. just starting my 4th season now, finished 5th, 6th and 3rd so far.

Thanks mate <ok> will give it a try.

only formation I had any success with was 4-3-3 Kevin Keegan style all out attack won a few 5-4.(including Manure at home)

I generally play 4-3-3, works a treat. This was my team for my first season, finished 3rd.

    Krul (SK)
Simpson (WB) - Talyor (LD) - Colo (BPD) - Santon (WB)
Thiago (AP) - Tiote (BWM) - Cabaye (DLP)
Hoillet (AP) - Sturridge (P) - Ba (AP)

Got Thiago and Sturridge on loan, Hoillet for 9m.

With Toon I stick to the old 4-4-2.

4-3-1-2 is an old classic for FM over the years (no wingers), so may use that depending on what team I am charge of.

In the Champions League, beat Barcelona in the groups. 4th in the league should be higher to be honest. In my 3rd season.

P.S. No point playing Traquitista...waste of time.

Guys I would suggest putting Jonas as Defensive Winger, he gets great ratings on it...But please off Long shots on him...he's horrible at those..

I only use the trequartista role if I have a highly creative forward in the mould of Totti, Cantona, Del Piero, those kinds of players. Basically too lazy to be played in midfield with any defensive duties, but will make your other striker a goalscoring legend. Players who can actually play this role effectively on football manager seem few and far between. Newcastle wouldn't have anyone suited to the role, maybe someone like Suarez or Rooney could do it. Basically I wouldn't bother unless you're at a top club with a ridiculously talented deep lying forward.

i normally play 442 with wingers. classic. worked brilliantly in pre season and the first few games (beat chelsea 4 nil at home, villa 2 nil away) but since then i've been lacking a bit and been having a few draws. got sturridge and de jong up front, whats the best role for them? think i have them as AF and DLF, i can't remember.

I generally use the same formation in every game, I do change the mentality ect to suit who i'm playing.
Also if any of my players score a 6 or less after a game they are dropped for the next one.

    i play this formation

    ................Gk.................
    D/WBR.....CB........CB.....D/WBL
    ................DMC.....................
    ................MC......................
    AMR................................AML
    .........STR........STL............

I do but once I find form I tend to just wait for a defeat before changing. Call a team meeting if you're really struggling, an impassioned call to arms will get you back on track! I must admit when I'm away, unless I'm playing a really **** team, I tend to play counter attacking football. At home I find that being positive from the get go is the best way. An early goal always gives you a chance. So I'll often be playing control or attacking style. I'll often change tack if I'm 2-0 up too, if I'm playing attacking I'll swap to a standard style as the number of times you concede the third goal once 2-0 up is somewhat unusual!!!
