It’s that time of year again where Mrs K and me get dressed up and go to the races with the annual social club race day.
As I know nothing at all about betting, which is a surprise, considering Mrs K was an assistant manager of a Ladbrokes in Colchester when we first met, I’m hoping that the collective knowledge and wisdom of the forum could point me in the direction of a winner or two.
The link below is to the nine races tomorrow. The only dead cert is that I’ll likely drink more than I normally do and end up with a stinking hangover.

Have a good day mate! The only advice I can give is that the bookies always,but always win. Spend your money in the bar rather than on the track.... even a belter of a hangover clears much more easily than losses on hosses!

I'm going to a race night tonight at a charity 'do' in a micro pub (what a stupid phrase !) in Sunderland, where the races are pre-recorded . . . . that's not going to be fiddled, is it

I know absolutely now't about horse racing, and I'll spend a few bob and win bugger all, so I'm no help to you, Jimmy but I'll have a few and try to enjoy it

It was a canny night (at The Ocean micro bar in Sea Road) and I spent/donated quite a few bob, with not a single winner (or even a hint of one) being backed by me

The main raffle prize after the races was a signed Sunderland shirt (arranged by Onions . . . . who else ?), which was presented by Bobby Park, who a few will remember fondly

n.b. the beer was dreadful, so I decided to drive instead of Mrs. A., it seemed like the last race was definitely fixed, but cancer research won

The day, as always, was great. We came out about $70 down so means we won’t be eating for a week!! In all honesty though a good excuse to get dressed up.
