Thanks C58. It's great news that my man is on the way back! Looking forward to seeing him next season.

The Hamburg celebration is always worth seeing. The game was typical of Davies/Gera driving our Europa League performances.

Zoltan was unfortunately injured at the weekend while playing (and captaining) Hungary. Most of me hopes he'll be okay for our game v West Brom - what a reception he'll get - the rest of me would rather he didn't play, given the way he's performed so far this season.

Bizarrely, he hasn't played a league game for West Brom since that opening day goal, so he may not have started even if he hadn't picked up an injury. I hope he's visible on the day and gets a suitably warm welcome.

Zoltan has scored a great goal against Sunderland -

Isn't he doing well - another bloomer by Hughes.

Another cracking goal from my man.
Thanks C58 - I was listening to Radio 5 and awaiting MOTD later to see it.

And against woeful Sunderland (still does not make up for last week).

A real pity. May Zolly's recovery go on-track!

Yes, I wish him all good and nothing bad. That said, his injury record since leaving us suggests that we did well to let him go when we did. It's funny how some players get blamed by fans for being injury prone, while others - like Zolly - are blamelessly regarded as having bad luck.

Best of luck in the rehab, Zolly. You'll always be the face of our Europe League run.

Gutted to hear about this, great player, great professional and seemingly nice guy. I hope he returns but I fear that this may be one injury too many.

Just a note, can anyone remember any players that have left Fulham and gone on to improve their career ?

    Van Der Sar
    Dempsey ???

Steve Finnan won a Champions League winners medal after leaving us. I think that worked out well for him.
Chris Smalling is doing all right so far, though it's probably too soon to make a judgement (as with Dempsey and Dembele).
Paul Parker (although I suspect that's going back further than you intended).

There are lots who did all right - Malbranque, Sean Davis, Louis Saha - while never hitting the heights that might have been expected. You could argue that they maintained where they were rather than going backwards, but didn't make great advances as a result of leaving us.

You could probably just about argue Saha improved his career, although he seemed to be injured a lot more after he left us than I remember him being with us.

Going even further back, Alan Mullery, Malcolm Macdonald and Alan Clarke went on to greater things.

I'd go with Finnan and VDS, with Smalling possibly in a few seasons time.

Malbranque, Davis, Boa Morte, Diop, Saha, Bullard all had career's that declined afterward in my opinion.

Great to see that Zoltan came off the bench in West Brom’s game against Newcastle earlier this month. However it appears that
his star status is about to fly off in another direction entirely:

” The people in the Hungarian marketing department of the Sixt car hire company have pulled a PR masterstroke.

Sixt have teamed up with Hungarian football star Zoltan Gera for one of the longest, most creative YouTube advertising campaigns, well, ever. The campaign stars Gera in the role of the pasty on a plane journey from hell as the 32-year-old Baggie, who is strapped up with an uncomfortable leg brace, suffered every problem one could encounter going through check-in at an airport.

Eventually Gera gets on the plane, at which point users are offered a choice of three seats which can be clicked on. Each click opens a new YouTube video, and offers a different conclusion to Gera’s experience while travelling.

Watch Zoltan Gera’s excellent YouTube advertising campaign for Sixt below”

I'm sure that should read, '...the role of patsy'. Now, if they really had cast him as a pasty on a plane journey, that would have creative! Trippy, but creative.
